Located between Santa Cruz and Monterey, Moss Landing is home to approximately 100 households (less than 300 people) however, over 600 boats call Moss Landing "home" too. The commercial boats are known for gathering dungeness crab, halibut, king salmon, albacore, anchovies, sardines, squid, prawns, red snapper and other species. YUM!

This year, I made a New Year's Resolution to really get to know the communities I service, with new eyes, the way a new person moving into the community might see. When a person lives in a community, we sometimes take things for granted. For example, I live in Santa Cruz County and we have a tourist venue called The Mystery Spot. I am so surprised at the number of 'locals' who have never actually gone to The Mystery Spot. But people who don't live in Santa Cruz talk about it as the 'go-to' place.
