I recently had a customer interested in a luxury home in the greater Charlotte area, homes priced between $1.5M and $2M. The Point, the Palisades, Ballantyne Country Club, and Piper Glen Country Club were the candidates. The client's major concerns were less about the house... first the schools for their children and second, they wanted a community with amenities- places a new family could meet other new families. Then they wanted a terrific house around 6000 sf! In what's becoming the norm, Charlotte real estate prices continue to rise in the face of national housing recession and price decline. Prices of all the single family residential Charlotte Solds, from 7/1/07 to 9/30/07, rose 4.97% over the same period in 2006, based on the sold Cost Per Square foot. Units Sold fell a little over 12% for the same record setting 2006 time period... taking Charlotte back to 2004 sales levels. For the whole story
