brazos valley: City of Bryan Focuses on Family

The city of Bryan was recognized in 2001 for having the top parks and recreation system in Texas compared with citys of it's size (50K to 100K). Not content to leave this as the status quo Bryan went further and invested another 3.5 million in it's beautiful Henderson Park in 2004. This added 30 acres of beautiful family oriented entertainment to Bryan including five soccer fields, a covered pavilion, sand volleyball, 10 picnic pads, a skateboard park, walking trail, swimming pool and four baseball fields. The pool alone is a work of art. Milam Elementary jumpstarted a special project with each student (0 comments)
Its that time again! Hot temperatures and nothing to do. Well, Tanglewood Park is the place to be! This family oriented park is located on Carter Creek Parkway and Tanglewood Drive in Bryan.
A nature lover's paradise!
Plenty of shade! Kids of all ages can indulge themselves in water with its newly developed, touch activated splash pad, which is open from March through October 10a-8p.
Playgrounds, swings, a sand volleyball court, lighted tennis courts and several practice soccer goals also make for a great place to play.
Tanglewood Park is an ideal place for birthday parties or just a BBQ away from home. There are several BBQ grills and picnic tables scattered (3 comments)

Marthas Bloomers is a great place in Navasota (just about 10 miles south of College Station) that absolutely rocks! Started about five years ago this place has really "bloomed"! With every kind of plant imaginable, trees, shrubs, pottery, antiques, and oddities that your soul can imagine, this place is addictive. Free seminars on Saturdays are extremely popular with some of the upcoming seminars being Basil Gardening, Snakes and Attracting and Identifying Birds. While you are there don't forget to stop by Cafe M Bloomers tea room, this fancy and fun place is open Tues through Saturday and closed on Mondays. One of the biggest (0 comments)
brazos valley: Sports Opportunities Abundant in Bryan/College Station

The Aggies won their last game, so I'll use this opportunity to brag about our sports here in Brazos Valley. With A&M right here we have excellent opportunities for sports watching for all sports fans! College Station itself has a population of around 82K, but our Kyle Field, home of Aggie football has had an attendance of 87,555. It's always a thrill to see the stands filled to the brim with maroon shirts. For miles around people can see the field and hear the fans going wild. If racing is your sport of choice we have Texas World Speedway south of College (0 comments)
