I was going to Rhode Island College, working on my Masters in Education. I actually carried this child to receive my degree on June 10, 1973 . It was Friday, November 9th about 5:30pm and I was getting sharp pangs. I felt I should check it out and headed to St Joseph's Hospital in Providence. Year-round throughout the state of RHODE ISLAND one can always find something interesting to do and see, but during the fall the colors are spectacular. There are the special events, fairs, concerts and especially the annual Art Festival that takes place every year during the Columbus Day long weekend. It takes place in North Scituate, RI. This is their 44th year and my 18th annual art excursion. As a former art instructor in East Providence, RI and a lover of the ARTS. I always schedule time on my calendar to visit this festival.

While I was in South Carolina enjoying the arrival of my first grandson, Nolan Bryce Corbett, born on August 6, 2004 and having an exciting time being a new Grandma, I received an unexpected call on the 16th of August, just 5 years ago this past Sunday, from my sister, Maureen, telling me I needed to return to Rhode Island immediately. I have been a resident in the village of Lonsdale, a historic district in townof Lincoln, Providence County and Plantations, Rhode Island, United States, since 1972.
