prescott: ARE YOU MAKING A DIFFERENCE? - 11/15/11 05:37 AM
With Veterans Day just passing, it seems appropriate to continue to remind everyone what we have in a soldier.  Men and women have risked everything....their lives, their families, their securtity, their own safety and they have done it all unselfishly for you and me.  Why do we forget what is happening in other parts of the world just because it is not directly effecting us?  I will get off my soap box, but ever so often, I think about the sacrifice made so that I can live in a place of freedom to come and go as I please and to … (2 comments)

prescott: BENEFITS OF HOMEOWNERSHIP - 10/24/11 09:28 AM
Can we agree being a homeowner makes you happy?  In a survey done it was found that homeowners are happier and healthier than non-owners.  Homeowners are also more satisified with their personal situation when compared to renters; and studies have discovered that daughters of homeowners have a lower rate of teenage pregnancy.
The report relates stable housing to the fact that homeowners will move less often than renters.  This in turn creates a sense of responsiblity and care for their home and community.  Homeowners tend to have more social ties than renters and will create lasting relationships.  They become more involved … (0 comments)

prescott: Eat your water! foods to keep you hydrated - 10/20/11 11:57 AM

I know how important it is to stay hydrated and I try to sip water all day, but sometimes I fall behind. So I also try to eat foods, such as cucumbers or strawberries, that can contribute to my fluid intake, helping to prevent the headaches and sluggishness caused by dehydration. Another good reason to eat water? Research shows that eating foods that are full of water helps keep you satisfied on fewer calories. (Interestingly enough, drinking water alongside foods doesn’t have the same effect.) This includes soup, of course, and also juicy fruits and vegetables. These are four of … (3 comments)

Engaging the children in the home-purchase process should be an important part of any real estate sales strategy.  It should not be underestimated the buying influence of a younger member of the family.  Get the kids on your side and they will be a welcomed assistant when getting the parents to commit.  It is good if the kids like you and trust you.   Ask the kids how they would decorate their room or does the pool look fun.  Why not?  They have to live there too.

Is it true that location, location, location helps sell a home?  There are many factors that can determine if, in fact, the location of a home is desirable.

1)      Traffic conditions – are the roads of good quality?  How much congestion is there?

2)      Good exterior features – is your landscaping well-maintained and/or well-designed?  Is the design of your home attractive?

prescott: PICTURE THIS? Did you get it all? - 09/09/11 10:31 AM
Buyers love to look at photos on line of prospective homes they are looking to buy.  However; sometimes the photos do not do the home justice and they may skip over that listing.    Here are some camera tips to capture a room’s size.
1)       Remove area rugs:  They tend to make the room look smaller.  Keep the floor area as clear as possible.
2)      Use wide-angle camera:  When used for interior shots it will magnify the distance between objects and will show case the room’s depth.  Ultra-wide and fisheye lenses may make the room look wider and can be misleading so … (1 comments)

Here is what most of them had to say:
1)       YOU REPRESENT THEIR BEST INTEREST!  When your clients are pinned against a situation where other parties in the transaction are difficult to deal with, people want to know you have their best interest in mind.  They want someone who will go to bat for them when necessary.
2)      LOVE YOUR JOB?  SHOW IT!   Presenting yourself as if you love what you are doing tells a big tale.  … (0 comments)

When families move, whether just down the street or to a new community, children all ask the same questions:
Will there be any kids my age at our new house?  What will they be like? Will they like me? Will I have any friends?
Here are a few tips to help your child through that tough time of being the “new-kid” on the block:

2)      Take short family walks as a way … (1 comments)

prescott: REMODELING? DO YOU NEED A PERMIT? - 08/26/11 11:56 AM

Sometimes when homeowners are busy remodeling and choosing the perfect tile, the fact that they need a permit is swept to the way side.   Commonly forgotten permits can certainly rare their ugly heads when it come to selling the home.   Why risk losing a sale due to local requirements not being addressed until you have a sale?  There is a possibility of safety or legal problems that may derail an otherwise smooth sale.

Typically when a homeowner uses a licensed-contract they will not be involved in the involvement of getting any necessary permits as the contractor will do … (5 comments)
