cedar city real estate: Cedar City Subdivisions...Buena Vista Market Update.... - 12/16/11 11:10 AM
In The Cedar City Real Estate Market there are several nice subdivisions that are just outside of Cedar City limits.  Buena Vista is one of the mature subdivisions in our market.  It is on the West side of Cedar City just off of Highway 56.  This is also a mixed subdivision of sorts, there are stick built homes as well as manufactured homes.
The lots are large from .5 acres to an acre.  Buena Vista was built over a number of years.  Because of the lot size there are many homes that have large enough lots to have horses on them.  … (8 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Subdivisions...The Parks at Deer Hollow Market Update... - 12/16/11 05:21 AM
The Cedar City Real Estate Market has some subdivisions that were hit hard by the economic Downturn.  The Parks at Deer Hollow is one of them.  It is a subdivision with some outstanding potential in a nice setting.  The Parks at Deer Hollow is adjacent to the new Iron Springs Elementary School in Enoch.  It is a subdivision with just a few homes that have been built.
This is subdivision that has a lot of potential.  The homes that have been built haven’t come on the resale market very often.  It is a unique subdivision in that many of the homes … (4 comments)

Tonight  through Saturday we will enjoy a production of a Christmas Carol at the Randall L. Jones Theatre is one of the venues for the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
Tickets are very reasonable at $5 for adults and $3 for children.  The Randall L. Jones Theatre is located at 300 West University Blvd. (Center Street) in Cedar City.  Come and get into the Spirit of Christmas while enjoying a great play.

The Cedar City Real Estate Market has enjoyed and influx of many new subdivisions in the past 5 or 6 years.  Sycamore Trails is one of those new subdivisions. It is a subdivision of smaller, starter style homes.  Most homes are in the 1300 to 1500 square foot and larger range, it is a PUD.
It is a newer subdivision, built in 2008.  There is currently one home listed for sale in the MLS for $169,800
Market Update 5/5/2011:  There are currently 2 homes listed for sale in the Sycamore Trails Subdivision.  One is listed at $139,900 and the other at … (2 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Localism Post…Russian Ballet - 12/13/11 06:35 AM
I will be honest, in the past several months I have seen things in Cedar City, that I previously wouldn’t have thought possible.  Tonight there will be a performance by the Moscow Ballet of the Nutcracker.
It isn’t the performance of the Nutcracker that I find hard to believe, it is the performance by the Russian Ballet.  We have had a symphony orchestra from China, the Soviet Art Exhibit that concluded last month, and now the Moscow Ballet!  All here in little Cedar City!  It is exciting to witness and be a part of!
Tuesday Night’s performance will begin at … (10 comments)

cedar city real estate: Sunday’s Post…Adding Value…. - 12/11/11 03:45 AM
I recently started back to school.  I do wish that I had finished my degree in my early 20’s when I still knew everything!  I am going online through Western Governor’s University, and I will be honest, I really like it.  It is really convenient and it isn’t that much more than a traditional State College.
My Business class was going through the organizational and teamwork issues facing businesses today.  There is a lot of stuff to re learn, mostly terminology, but I came across something that talked about how a person can add value to an organization.  This is something … (15 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Subdivisions...Hunter Glen...Market Update 12/9/2011... - 12/09/11 03:27 PM
Hunter Glen is another of the great new subdivisions that have been added to the Cedar City Real Estate Market in the last 5 or 6 years.    It is on the Western side of City limits.  It was built in 2007.  It is a subdivision where you can bring your own builder to build the home of your dreams.
There is a nice blend of homes in this subdivision, anything from starter homes to large, executive homes.  There are currently 2 homes listed in the subdivision, they are brand new homes.  They are priced in the $169,000 to $199,900 range and … (12 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Subdisions...Equestrian Pointe - 12/09/11 06:21 AM
The Cedar City Real Estate Market has several great subdivisions that were built around 2000 to 2005, Equestrian Pointe is one of those great subdivisions.  This subdivision is in the Cedar City limits and there are still some lots available to build on.  Equestrian Pointe is an expansive subdivision that offers something for all types of buyers.
When we say that this subdivision has all types of homes, we mean exactly that.  There are gorgeous executive estate type homes on 5 acres to really nice starter sized homes.  As the name implies, horses are allowed in the subdivision (some of the … (7 comments)

cedar city real estate: Updated Web Site.... - 12/08/11 05:53 AM
Darcy has been busy with our web designer updating and redoing our web site.  This is probably long overdue!  I think that she has done a great job with it.  We added and IDX link provided by Digital Solutions.  We really like their product so far!  I do know that when it comes to IDX providers, many people have their own favorites.  If you want to check it out here is a link: http://www.livingincedarcity.com/
The reason to have web sites, Active Rain Blogs and Social Media is to get your name out there.  This is something that we understand, our thought … (12 comments)

cedar city real estate: Wait til Next Year...... - 12/08/11 05:25 AM
As a Baseball fan I know that is the sort of the rallying cry of the Chicago Cub fans.  Like you, I would love to see the Cubs get the monkey or goat off the teams back and win it all!  This is more of a local type post, Darcy took this photo of these trees, and I have been trying to come up with a way to work the photo into the blog, so this is what I came up with: Wait til next year, I will be beautiful again, now I may look like a bundle of sticks, but … (7 comments)

cedar city real estate: Thinking of Moving to Cedar City V... We are the Festival City.... - 12/07/11 02:53 AM
Another great reason to consider moving to Cedar City is that Cedar City is the Festival City.  We are famous for the Utah Shakespeare Festival and the Neil Simon Festival, but those aren’t the only festivals that we hold each year.  The prime “festival” season is from April to October with many wonderful event that enhance the other two festivals.
There is the wonderful Musical Festival, Groovefest the Festival of American Music, The Family Festival.  We also have the Paiute Restoration and Gathering, and the Utah Summer Games.  The Street Faire is another wonderful event, to celebrate our recent history we … (2 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Localism Post…Concert…. - 12/06/11 06:11 AM
I will admit I am not a fan of American Idol.  I know that I may be one of the few people in the United States that is not, but I am okay with it.  I did sort of follow it when Carmen Rasmussen was on, she too attended Woods Cross High School, only many years after I graduated.I also loosely followed when David Archuleta was on because he too is from Utah.
Well, if I were a fan, I may be much more tempted to buy tickets to the David Archuleta Concert that is being held this Saturday in the … (10 comments)

cedar city real estate: Thinking of Moving to Cedar City Part IV - 12/05/11 03:17 AM
Here the past few days we have been receiving a lot of snow.  Which brings us to another reason to want to move to Cedar City, skiing.  That’s right, skiing at Brian Head.  The great thing about skiing Brian Head is that it is so close.  Depending on road conditions, we are about 2 and ½ to 3 hours North of Las Vegas.  With Saint George about an hour away, you really can golf in the morning and ski in the afternoon!
I don’t know if that is something that would interest everyone, but I am sure that it appeals to … (5 comments)

cedar city real estate: Silent Sunday...Solitude... - 12/04/11 06:03 AM
Darcy and I were out taking photos of our new listing.  I will feature it later in another post, it is a really nice horse property.  Anyway we came across these buildings, well they were just too photogenic to pass up.  They seem to be keeping a solitary guard in the cold against the march of time!

cedar city real estate: Thinking of Moving to Cedar City Part III…. - 12/03/11 05:27 AM
I have been enjoying this series of posts.  It seems to make it a lot easier to make up what to write in blogs when you have a series going.  Today I am still going to talk a little about the lifestyle here in Cedar City.  I know that I discussed some of the outdoor things that we have to offer for you to do.  Please don’t think that those are the total of things that you can do outdoors here in the Cedar City Area.
This post is going to deal with some of the other, more cultural things that … (2 comments)

cedar city real estate: Kanarraville Subdivisions…Chekshani Cliffs…Market Update... - 12/02/11 10:01 AM
I have mentioned many times that one great benefit of working in the Cedar City Real Estate Market is that we get to work is some great small towns.  Kanarraville is South of Cedar City about 15 miles.  It sets up near the Mountains, Cheksani Cliffs is a subdivision that is in Iron County, but it often aligned with New Harmony, which is in Washington County.  These are executive style homes on large acre plus lots.  It is set in a scenic area, near the Kolob Canyon Section of Zion National Park.
There are currently two homes listed in Cheksani Cliffs … (2 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Localism Post…Ten Thousand Villages… - 12/02/11 07:00 AM
The Community Presbyterian Church is hosting a great event.  It also sound like a great place to buy either that unusual Christmas Gift for someone or some unique home décor items.  The difference in this and other places to buy these types of things is that the items for sale come from crafts people from all over the World especially from Third World Countries.
The money from the sale of these items goes back to these crafts people to provide them income!  Is this a wonderful idea or what!!!!  This is a great way to provide money to people who … (2 comments)
