cedar city real estate: Thinking of Moving to Cedar City Part II..... - 12/01/11 01:18 PM
I started out this series with a post about working with us the C Team.  The reality is we have a great product to sell.  If one of the biggest things that today's homebuyer is looking for is lifestyle, we have that!  We also have some of the best scenery around as well.  I will warn you that these are not recent photos, we have had one of the first major winter storms of the season last night and today, so our scenery has sort gone to the black and white, mostly white variety.
We enjoy all for seasons here in … (7 comments)

cedar city real estate: Thinking of Moving to Cedar City? - 11/29/11 08:03 AM
Is there anyone out there thinking of moving to Cedar City?  Well, you should at least think about.  Why? Some of you may ask.  Because I said so, not really, there are some really great reasons to move to Cedar City.  This is a post that I am going to visit a few more times.  I like to keep my Active Rain Posts short and easy to read.
One of the main reasons to move to Cedar City is the opportunity to work with us!  No, seriously, we bring nearly 20 years of Real Estate experience to the table.  Both Darcy … (11 comments)

cedar city real estate: Tuesday’s Thought…Excellence… - 11/29/11 03:55 AM
Yesterday was Darcy and my anniversary, so I didn’t spend much time working.  Today it is back to work, I am a day behind it feels like, but we had a great time, so it was well worth playing catch up today.  I wanted to work this quote into a blog post for awhile now, it is from the Greek philosopher Aristotle:
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.”
This is so very true, when we achieve excellence it comes from doing the right things daily over and over again.  I am reminded … (8 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Subdivisions…Eagle Point…Market Update - 11/28/11 07:40 AM
Eagle Point is another tremendous asset in the Cedar City Real Estate Marke, this great condo complex is located at the North End of Cedar City.  It consists of two story and single story units.  The two story units were built in the mid 1990′s and are typically around 1600 square feet.  They boast fairly large bedrooms and a single car garage.
The single story units were built in another phase in the early 2000′s.  They were initially marketed to retired people who didn’t want to deal with stairs.  As far as I have been able to find out, the complex … (3 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Subdivisions….Stone Gate…Market Update - 11/28/11 07:26 AM
In the Cedar City Real Estate Market we have a few townhome subdivisions. Stone Gate is one of the newer townhome subdivisions that we have here in Cedar City.  Unlike most of the others townhomes, many of these townhomes have basements.  Like Eagle Point, it is located in the Northern part of Cedar City.
These units were built in the past couple of years, some finished this year.  These are large units with just over 2000 square feet.  They are located near the Movie Theaters at the North End of Cedar City.
There is currently one unit listed for sale … (0 comments)

cedar city real estate: How Long Will I be Thankful for Active Rain????? - 11/27/11 12:25 PM
As the Thanksgiving weekend is winding down, I have been thinking about the many things that I am thankful for.  I have already written about how thankful  I  am for Darcy, she is truly my better half!!!  I have been told that Active Rain builds SEO for Active Rain more than it does for us, The C Team.  I just smile at that, we were nowhere before Active Rain!
That is just one bonus, the best part is honestly the great people that I have met here on the ‘Rain.  So I guess I will just have answer my question with … (13 comments)

cedar city real estate: Saturday’s Thought…More on Gratitude… - 11/26/11 05:16 AM
I came across this thought this morning and wanted to share it with everyone before the Thanksgiving weekend completely gives way to the crush of Holiday shopping.  Here is the quote:
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." ~ Melody Beattie
The reality is that we need to … (9 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Localism Post….Shop Small Part II…. - 11/25/11 04:24 PM
There seems to be a movement asking us to spend our money in the smaller stores in the communities in which we live.  I highlighted the Country Christmas in Parowan yesterday, so today I thought that I should include the happenings in Cedar City!
Cedar City is also offering a great opportunity to shop small and local this Saturday with the  The Fall & Winter Market held indoor at 509 N 200 W, Cedar City held 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Items that will be sold include fresh locally grown vegetables and fruits, Artisan cheeses, bread, jams & jellies, fresh eggs … (8 comments)

cedar city real estate: Parowan Area Localism Post….Shop Small... - 11/25/11 10:01 AM
We have all heard the shop small or shop local movement for this weekend.  It is an effort to support the local businesses in our communities.  Parowan is really doing that idea up nicely with their Christmas in the Country event.  This takes place Friday and Saturday.
Parowan Christmas in the Country is will be at 10:00am at the Iron County Fairgrounds (Parowan).   Some of the fun events will include a bazaar, Santa parade, Christmas concerts, candle light parade, home tours, lighting ceremony and much more. For more information call 435-477-9022 or visit www.parowan.org.

cedar city real estate: Thought for the Thanksgiving Break…. - 11/23/11 11:14 AM
This is a thought assuming that you are taking a break for Thanksgiving.  I admit it, I will be on Active Rain tomorrow, but I won’t be doing any other Real Estate stuff.  This is really for those who aren’t taking any sort of break tomorrow.  It comes from the great musical mind of Irving Berlin, here’s the quote:
"Life is 10 percent what you make it and 90 percent how you take it."
To me, he is saying that there are times to take some time to not be so serious.  I love Real Estate, but it is a good … (11 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Subdivisions... Country Lane Market Update - 11/23/11 04:39 AM
The Country Lane Subdivision is another great asset in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.  It is located on the West side of Cedar City near Iron Springs Elementary School.  This is a newer subdivision, built in the early 2000′s.  These are larger homes, some move up style homes as well as some starter homes.
There are currently two homes listed in our MLS, from the $153,000 to $249,000 range.  These homes are typically in the 2200 square foot range.
Market update 11/23/2011:  There are currently 2 homes listed for sale in the Country Lane Subdivision, one is listed at $130,000 … (2 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Subdivisions Imlay Subdivision Market Update - 11/23/11 03:27 AM
I mentioned in another subdivision blog that the Cedar City Real Estate Market has some great older subdivisions that were built after World War II.  The Imlay subdivision is nestled in among them.  The Imlay Subdivision is literally right next to the Max Lunt Subdivision, to the South.
It is also very near the Campus of Southern Utah University.  It's homes were built a little later, the one home I found on the MLS was built in 1980.  It is also a very quiet subdivision with mature trees. The Imlay Subdivision is very stable the only sold I could find in … (2 comments)

cedar city real estate: Active Rain/DocuSign Contest What I am Thankful For…… - 11/22/11 08:48 AM
I don’t often do the contests here at Active Rain, yesterday Darcy read me the blog post on Active Rain.   I have much to be thankful for, I was born into a home with good parents who loved, supported and encouraged me to learn and work to be the best that I can be.  I am not sure that there is a definition of the idyllic childhood, I think that it’s definition can change from person to person.
I was blessed to have an older brother, Tom, and two sisters, Jacki and Lori who are still some of my best friends.  … (10 comments)

cedar city real estate: Thought for Tuesday - 11/22/11 02:39 AM
I have done a couple of thoughts blogs in a row.  I came across this thought yesterday, and as yesterday was a Monday and we have been out of town so much recently, I didn’t get the time that I needed to write this post.
I don’t know about you, but I get emails that often have great quotes in them.  This is something that I find helpful to me.  Here is the quote:
"Excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well."~ John W. Gardner
How true is this!  I attended part of a class taught by Brian Buffini at NAR Anaheim, … (7 comments)

cedar city real estate: Southern Utah Localism Post…Historic Photographs… - 11/19/11 03:30 AM
This event has been an ongoing event and one that because of a few factors, I have been hesitant to include into my blogging.  The main factor has been the closure of State Road 14 which is the most direct, free access from the Cedar City area to Mt. Carmel.  You can access Mt. Carmel through Zion National Park, but you have to pay the entrance fee to the Park.
The other routes are at best circuitous; State Road 20 to State Road 89 then South to Mt. Carmel or State Road 59 into Arizona and then to Kanab and North … (7 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Localism Post…Dancing with the Stars, SUU Style - 11/18/11 08:36 AM
ABC TV’s Dancing With the Stars is an enormously popular television series.  We have the opportunity to see stars and celebrities do something that puts them out of their element.  Tonight and tomorrow night Southern Utah University’s Ballroom Dance Company will present their "Winter Concert".
This will be held 7:30 PM in Cedar High School Auditorium (703 W 600 S, Cedar City), admission is $8 adults and $6 students/youth. For tickets: call 435-865-8370 or email ballroomdance@suu.edu or at the door.
They are going to do many of the dances that you have seen the stars dance on Dancing With the Stars.  … (12 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Localism Post…Laps for Life - 11/18/11 05:46 AM
This really is the Season when we tend to give more than at other times of the year, and there are some activities going on that are really worthwhile.  I don’t normally blog about things that I feel are somewhat frivolous.  When you start doing things to try to cure Cancer or to help those in need, rather it is from Cancer or other reasons to me, those are worthwhile endeavors.
Laps for Life similar to the Relay for Life where participants will camp at the Aquatic Center (2090 W Royal Hunte Dr, Cedar City) beginning 7:00pm Friday and will end … (7 comments)

cedar city real estate: Cedar City Localism Post...Holiday Jubilee Great Cause…. - 11/18/11 03:52 AM
Valley View Medical Center is hosting a fundraiser, The Holiday Jubilee.  This will be held 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the concourse at Valley View Medical Center (1303 N Main St., Cedar City). This is not just a one night activity this is a  four day event and will feature Santa Clause, holiday sweets, designer Christmas trees, wreaths, and live entertainment from throughout Iron County.
The best thing about this is that all proceeds will go to supporting the expansion of the Sandra L. Maxwell Cancer Treatment Center and donations are tax deductible. Cancer is one of those things … (7 comments)

cedar city real estate: Parowan Area Happenings...The Sound of Music... - 11/16/11 04:38 AM
Parowan High School is presenting the Sound of Music tonight through November 21st at the High School Auditorium (50 West 100 North) the cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and $2 for children under 12.  This should be a great family activity for one of America's favorite Musicals!  It is also a good opportunity to support the school!

cedar city real estate: Where is the Line???? - 11/14/11 02:32 AM
If Walmart were having a 40 to 60% off Sale the line in Cedar City would stretch at least to Enoch! For those who aren’t familiar with Cedar City that is approximately 7 or 8 miles. I will be honest, comparing the Real Estate Market to a store really isn’t a good comparison, I would say a better comparison is comparing it to buying a car. The reason that I say that is because a car purchase like a home purchase often involves a loan of some sort. Many markets across the country are seeing prices at least 40% off their … (57 comments)
