houses for sale in bountiful ut: The Sun Also Shines.... - 04/25/14 12:37 PM
We have enjoyed a couple of pretty violent storms here in Utah this past week.  Not violent like a tornado or hurricane, but still windy enough to knock semi trucks and trees over.  Today the Interstate 15 was closed for quite a while due to blowing dust and poor, (read zero) visibility in Southern Utah.  One of the forecasts that I have seen for tomorrow is calling for snow in Park City. I know, Park City is a ski town and is quite high in elevation.
It was just a couple of days ago we were enjoying beautiful Spring weather with … (11 comments)

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Still Here..... - 04/25/14 12:11 PM
It has been a while since I have posted much here on Active Rain.  I wanted to write something just to show that I am still around and that although it may seems that I am just lurking and commenting, I have been working and trying to come up with new blogs.  It is the age old story with me, managing my time better and stop living in the urgent and start living in the important tasks of life!
I thought that I would share a photo of some flowers that I took a couple of months ago!  Have a great … (10 comments)

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Who Can it Be???????????? - 04/15/14 01:11 PM
Darcy took this photo in a front yard here in Bountiful.  We had a good chuckle over it.  We looked all around but couldn't find the doctor anywhere.  That was a littl disappointing!  We did manage to get this shot, and have been working on a plan to "stake out" the area to see when he comes back. I don't think that he is scheduled for the Fan Experience part of Comic Con Salt Lake that is taking place this weekend!

What do you think, is it worth staking out?

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Book Review....The Inocent by David Baldacci.... - 04/06/14 02:43 AM
This past week I finished reading "The Innocent", by David Baldacci.  I have read several of his books in the past and have really enjoyed reading them.  This book, like his other books did not disappoint!  In truth, I had a hard time putting it down!  Like most of Mr. Baldacci's books, this is a mystery thriller.
It does draw you in from early on in the novel.  I would highly recommend this book to those who enjoy reading this genre of books!  I have never been disappointed when I have read one of Mr. Baldacci's books.  Several of his books … (18 comments)

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Wednesday with some words...Another Beautiful Sunset... - 04/01/14 01:08 PM
Anyone who has been reading my posts here in Active Rain know that I am a sucker for a beautiful sunset!  I will admit that seeing them in person is a lot better than seeing them in a photograph.  I will also admit that seeing them in a photograph is a lot better than not seeing them at all.  With that in mind, here goes!

Have a great night!

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Fortune Cookie Wisdom..... - 04/01/14 01:00 PM
Once in a great while, if you like Chinese food like Darcy and I do, you will get a fortune in a fortune cookie that offers some really wise advice.  I got this fortune a while back and to be honest until I went through the pictures that I downloaded from my phone, I had forgotten about it.  I knew when I got it that it was good advice, because even though I like Chinese food, I don't often take pictures of the fortunes contained inside the fortune cookies.

The picture speaks volumes, nothing more is really needed.

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Wednesday with some words...Bend, Don't Break.... - 04/01/14 12:53 PM
When Tom Landry was the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, he had a late game defense which he called the "flex" defense.  The idea was that the would allow the other team to move the ball down the field with relative ease, it just wouldn't let them score quickly or more often than not, it didn't let them score at all.
I am not suggesting that we should think of life as a defensive football philosophy, rather I believe those of us who have been in the business for several years understand that it is okay to bend a little … (4 comments)

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Tuesday's Photo...Fiery Sunset..... - 04/01/14 12:38 PM
I wanted to share another photo of a fiery sunset with everyone!  This one I took with my cell phone, so the image probably isn't as sharp as  I would have liked to have had it.  The colors were wonderful, and the best part is that it was taken just around the corner from our house, so occurrances like this are pretty common!  Have a great night!

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Localism Post...Argentine Corner... - 04/01/14 12:06 PM
For this post we are going a little out of our area to write about a restaurant.  This one is in Clearfield, which is a little further North that we like to go, but it was worth writing about! Darcy and I had the pleasure of trying out this fine restaurant last week.  I love Argentian food and this place did not disappoint!
I had a milanesa napoliatana and Darcy had some empanadas.  It was very good and very reasonably priced.  I even had the mate set up, that isn't mate like a friend rather it is pronounced matay.  It … (1 comments)

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Air Med...A Ride You Don't Want To Take.... - 03/25/14 12:15 PM
Last week I had the opportunity to get an up close look at one of the University of Utah Hospital's Air Med helicopters.  The best part, it didn't require a medical emergency!  This is one of those necessary evils that exist in the world.  Not that it is evil, it is just that something bad is happening to someone if one of these beauties is called in.
In cases like that, they are actually very helpful and a welcome sight!  Here are a couple of up close photos of the bird.

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Localism Post...Loews Layton Hills 9... - 03/25/14 10:13 AM
Yesterday, Darcy and I took advantage of a beautiful Spring afternoon to take in a matinee.  I have to admit, I do love movies.  I just really don't like paying theater prices when it is so easy (and less expensive) to watch them at home.  We ventured out to the Loews Layton Hills 9 to watch the Veronica Mars movie.  We got hooked on the TV series that was canceled much to soon.  The movie was very good, but what caught my attention was the theater!
There were actually easy chairs to sit in to watch the movie, just like the … (6 comments)

houses for sale in bountiful ut: I Love Beautiful Sunsets.... - 03/22/14 12:00 PM
Some of you may realize that I love looking at beautiful sunsets.  I don't care where the sun is setting, as long as it is beautiful, (and it almost always is), I like them!  I will readily admit that they are better seen live, in person, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying photos of them!  This is particular sunset struck me as being so beautiful that I didn't even mind he power lines!  What do you think?

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Book Review...Mockingjay.... - 03/22/14 11:52 AM
I mentioned in my last post that I got caught up in the last two books of the Hunger Games Trilogy.  Mockingjay cost me some sleep as I stayed up and read it.  Although I was somewhat tired, and probably a little cranky, I thouroughly enjoyed reading Mockingjay.  This was a one of those books which drew me in from the beginning and kept me there until the epilog of the story.
There was a lot of action, intrigue and at times character introspection.  I am left wondering how the movie(s) will tell the story contained in this book.  I … (6 comments)

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Book Review...Catching Fire.... - 03/22/14 11:40 AM
I have been working to maintain the goal that I made for myself to read at least one book each month this year.  I added some pressure, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't only reading business related books.  So my goal is to read a book a month that is not a real estate specific book.
I mentioned that if February I read the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.  Well, I started March reading Catching Fire, the second book in the trilogy.  I will admit, it started a little slow, but then it really sucked me in.  So … (4 comments)

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Friday's Photo...First Sunset of Spring.... - 03/21/14 12:21 PM
Darcy and I were up on Bountiful Boulevard just as the sun was setting on the first day of Spring. We thought that we would share our photo with everyone.  For those unfamiliar with the Bountiful area, Bountiful Boulevard has some of the best views of Antelope Island and the Great Salt Lake. I really enjoy going up there from time to time, just to look at the sunset!

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Saturday's Thoughts...Springtime.... - 03/08/14 08:23 AM
Spring is one of my favorite times of the year, the air is warmer, new life and growth is bursting forth.  Baseball season starts, I guess you could say that hope springs eternal this time of year.  I do love the mild daytime temperatures, the greening of the landscape and of course the prelude to the fun activities, like car shows!

houses for sale in bountiful ut: More Photos from Argentina...La Casa Rosada.... - 03/06/14 12:36 PM
La Casa Rosada is the Argentine equivalent to our White House.  It is the where the leader of Argentina lives, and the seat of government.  This is another of the photos I took several years ago.  It is one of the high numbers on my bucket list to go back to Argentina, this time with my beautiful wife, Darcy!

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Thankful Thursdays...Argentine Sunset from long ago.... - 03/06/14 12:28 PM
Tonight I have dug back into my photos that I took many years ago in Argentina.  This particular sunsent was taken in the city of San Lorenzo, Santa Fe provence.  Argentina is one of the most beautiful and exotic places that I have been able to go to.   I do hope that you enjoy this photo!

I used this photo in a blog that I wrote earlier today.  I thought that I would just make a blog and have it stand alone.  It is a photo that I took a number of years ago at the Iguazu Falls from the Argentina side of the falls. I do hope that you enjoy it!

houses for sale in bountiful ut: Another Book Review...The Hunger Games... - 02/28/14 02:11 AM
I have had some wait time the past few days, so I was able to finish reading another book much more quickly than I had planned.  I will admit I read the Hunger Games mainly because of Darcy's urging.  We had seen both of the first two movies, so I generally don't like to read books which have been made into movies if I have seen the movie.
Much to my surprise, I found reading the Hunger Games an entertaining and enjoyable read.  I know that the series was written for a much younger audience, but there are some underlying plot … (8 comments)
