Well it is 9 degrees outside as I am typing (is that still an applicable word?) this post, so who wouldn't love a trip to the Islands? Rumbi Island Grill is just that although with Hawaiian cuisine along with jerked meats, I am not sure which Islands you would be going to! I do know that the food is excellent! This is a chain with franchises that began in Salt Lake City in 2000. That is why I include it in my blogs about the local places to eat. I don't know about any of you, but I like sushi. I could eat sushi 3 or 4 times a week and not tire of it. Here in South Davis County we are blessed to have a couple of excellent sushi restaurants. One of which is in West Bountiful, it is the Mikado. There are several Mikado restaurants around the Salt Lake area. The sushi is excellent, and for those who don't like sushi, there are some great other food options even burgers.

Today I am going to highlight one of my all time favorite restaurants. I make no secret that I love Chinese Food! China Platter is one the I have been eating at for twenty years. It is very good food, it is reaonably priced and has a great atmosphere! In fact, Darcy and I ate there last night, it was very good! They are open for lunch or dinner and of course have take out.

I have really been enjoying doing this series of posts. I have realized just how many great restaurants here in South Davis County we have to enjoy! I really haven't even scratched the surface, sure we have the well known chains like Applebee's, Chili's, Texas Roadhouse, well you get the picture, I don't wan't to write about them, anyone looking to move to South Davis County already is familiar with these. I am continuing to highlight some of the great eateries that we enjoy right here in our backyard in South Davis County. Today I am choosing my nephew's favorite, Arella's in West Bountfiul. It offers wood fire pizza in a brick oven pizza. You can choose from one of the house specialities or make your own. My nephew loves the pink sauce pizzas!

Continuing with this series of things to do and places to eat in South Davis County, I am focusing on Lorena's Mexican Restaurant. It is located in Woods Cross. I will admit that Darcy and I are pretty particular when it comes to Mexican cuisine. I will admit that I like Lorena's a lot more than Darcy does, she prefers the California Mexican cuisine, which I also like. Lorena's is not that, but it is still good. I love the tortillas! They are handmade and thicker than what you would normally find.

I am not really sure if this restaurant is simply Mandarin or if is called The Mandarin, but for years it has been referred to as The Mandarin. The Mandarin is located in Bountiful. It is a little difficult to find in that there are no other restaurants near it. It offers, as the name implies, Chinese cuisine. This is a popular if somewhat upscale restaurant. I don't remember the first time I ate there, it was several years ago. If anything, age has improved it!

A week ago Darcy and I attended Agent Reboot in Anaheim, California. It was a great opportunity to learn how to better use the tools of technology to grow our business. One of the main points that came out of it was that it was a good idea to post your blogs in several places, but you should have a main “hub” for those posts. I have in the past attempted to do this but began thinking that it was a little too much work....

This trait of happiness is another of the things that mother tried to teach me as I grew up. Happy people choose their friends wisely, they tend to associate with happy people. There is some truth to the axiom that you are who you associate with. When we find ourselves in a group of happy people, we tend to be a lot happier. The trait that Happy People have for this blog is as difficult as any of the other traits that are listed on this list of traits. When it talks of avoiding social comparisons, it means that we shouldn't be compariing ourselves and are circumstances with someone else. It is the "keeping up with the Jones'" mentality. This is a perfect day to show this happiness trait. Sunday is a great time to express gratitude for what you have been blessed with.
