Andy Andrews, author of The Travelers Gift says "Adversity is Preparation For Greatness." I don't know everything, but I do know this, someone reading this blog, right now is going through one of the worse times of their life. We are all either in adversity, heading towards adversity or coming out of adversity. It's part of being human. Welcome to life! Charles Swindoll said "life is 10% what happens and 90% how you react to it." I agree with this but just to go down a bunny trail here for a quick moment and to appeal to your human side, I would ask (3 comments)
self help: I want a Do Over......

My Life Is A Total Screw Up Remember when we were kids and we would kick the ball out of bounds, we would say "I want a do-over." Life can be like this, sometimes on a small scale and sometimes on a very large stage. We have all more than likely said to ourselves, a friend or a family member, "I wish I could go back in time and do it over all over again, "if I could just be 10, 16 or 20 years old again." What would you say if you could talk to yourself? Actually, the most important person that talks to you every day is you. So, my next question then is how is your self talk, is it empowering and uplifting or are you beating yourself down and tearing yourself up? Pay attention to the things you say, things like "I am never going to get this right, I always lose, I can't, I wont or I don't. If you recorded everything you said in a day, most of us would be amazed at how negative our self talk is. Here's another aha (2 comments)

Every year about this time we sit down and start to think about our goals for the following year. However, very few people, maybe 10% will actually sit down and make a list of written goals. Why is this? Personally, I think it's because we have failed so many times that we have just given up. Perhaps you have given up or you know someone that has given up. After all, "these are cards you have been dealt and you have learned to live with failure." Someone asked me a very good question the other day. They said, how many times will (0 comments)
