the silent partner marketing: American Touch Tag, Free Beer and Creative Marketing
- 10/07/15 10:41 PM
In the world of real estate, there's a hell of a lot of noise. Real estate agents try desperately to cut through that noise on social media. One of the most common ways of doing it? Tying in with a charitable cause. You see it all over the place "Keller Williams is proud to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month" and so on and so forth. The challenge is that for all of the good intentions, it's easy for your message to get lost in the noise of everyone talking. So how can you differentiate your company? How do you cut through that noise on (14 comments)
the silent partner marketing: How Facebook May Soon Crush Medium And LinkedIn
- 10/05/15 01:52 AM
You need to start blogging on Facebook. Because the social media giant is launching a subtle war on Medium and LinkedIn Pulse. And if they make it sexy enough, they just might win. It all goes back to the roots of Facebook – a little tool called Facebook notes. It’s a tab that all but disappeared in recent years. So why would they resurrect it now? Simply put, Facebook is looking to create an entire ecosystem and keep you in it. Don’t believe me? Look at how Facebook has gone after YouTube with video integration. Let’s not forget their purchase of (108 comments)

If you’re like many people, you’re on LinkedIn because someone at some point told you that you had to be. But are you taking advantage of the free tools that are available to help build your brand? One of the biggest missed opportunities is something that you may not have ever heard of. It’s called the Social Selling Index. It’s powerful. It’s analytical. Oh, and did I mention it’s free? Let’s break this down. To simplify it, I want you all to think of it not from a sales perspective – but from an equity perspective: social equity. The higher your social equity and (43 comments)
the silent partner marketing: The Dark Web And Your Marketing - What You Need To Know
- 09/16/15 10:01 PM
The movie “The Matrix” examined a concept that the world isn’t what we believe it is. But what if I told you that the internet isn’t what you believe it is? What if I told you that you only see the surface of the web…and that 96% of it is actually “dark”? Would it surprise you? Would it scare you? Would you even care? You SHOULD care. Because your marketing is no different. Allow me to explain. I’m referring to the “dark web”. The “dark web” makes up 96% of all content on the internet, but it cannot be indexed. Which means you’ll (25 comments)

Last weekend, my wife brought our family to a farm fair. It was quintessential New England. Cows. Corn. Arts and craft stands. I went up to one of the stands and ordered a medium sized bag of kettle corn. “That’ll be $7,” said the guy who handed me the bag. Seven bucks. For a bag of popcorn. Not like $7 is a big deal to me. But man – this was a little farm stand. It’s not like I was at the movies in NYC. Needless to say, the first couple of bites were a little salty to me…and it had nothing to do with (16 comments)
Prologue My male friends strongly urged me not to share this article. They suggested it was the equivalent of poking an angry mother bear. My female friends, on the other hand, were surprisingly in support of it. So with that said, I'd encourage you to read this and REALLY understand the message before yelling at me. Mommy Bloggers A couple of months ago, a female friend approached me. She's a stay at home mom with a couple of kids. She's an absolutely spectacular human being. Not to minimize her husband's hard work, but let's be honest - she's the one raising the family. She's got my (27 comments)
the silent partner marketing: Are You Marketing Like Your Lawyer Is Talking?
- 09/08/15 11:08 PM
There are a lot of perks to running a corporation. Dealing with lawyers? That's NOT one of them. Don't get me wrong, all of the lawyers that we use are great. They're wildly smart, incredibly knowledgeable and cool enough to join our management team for Happy Hour on a semi-regular basis. The problem is with their writing. I'm constantly getting documents from them that I need to sign. And I don't know what the HELL they are saying. It's not just the legal jargon. It's the fact that the damn things are written in some kind of old English. I have to hire a (29 comments)

the silent partner marketing: How To Use Live Video Streaming To Crush It
- 08/26/15 09:50 PM
Everyone is talking about the battle between Periscope and Meerkat. I'd like us all to focus a little LESS on WHO will win...and a little more on how WE can win. Personally, my money isn't on Periscope...Meerkat...or even Twitter as a whole. It's on Facebook. We're seeing Facebook Mentions roll out for all public figures almost as a way of dipping the toe in the proverbial water. So before Facebook DOES dive in head first, here are some tips you should start practicing with so that you are ready to crush it with live video for business. the silent partner marketing: New Video Features On Facebook
- 08/23/15 11:27 PM
I've been harping on why you all need to start producing video for quite some time. And I've been really bullish on why you need to upload that video directly to Facebook. So I'd be a little remiss if I didn't keep you up to date on some new features for posting videos on business pages. If you are familiar with the YouTube format for posting videos then you’ll have no trouble with this one. The new features includes the ability to choose the following options: Exclude videos from the News Feed and Timeline, and publish the videos only to the Page’s Videos tab Prohibit (10 comments)

the silent partner marketing: Pinterest Hacks For Your Business
- 08/17/15 09:48 PM
Some simple Pinterest hacks to grow your brand like you never thought possible. For the longest time, I would argue with business owners and CEO's who tried to tell us that social media had no role in the growth of a company. I'd be stricken with headache after headache - some caused by frustration, others caused no doubt by the vodka I'd have to drink after these meetings. Now that we're in a fully social and digital age...many of them have come back with the delicious words I knew I'd one day hear: "You were right." And yet there are platforms out there that businesses (18 comments)
the silent partner marketing: Should You Take On Controversy in Blogs? This Might Surprise You.
- 08/16/15 09:49 PM
Hillary Clinton is a liar. Steroids don't make baseball players hit more accurately. Many real estate agents have huge egos (but who doesn't?). Telling employees they shouldn't swear in the workplace is a crock of $h1t. The terms "racism" and "sexism" are thrown around way too frequently. And whoever the idiot was at Target who thinks removing the "boys" and girls" signs was a good idea should be fired. Man, that felt good. Sometimes it's so liberating to write about what's on your mind. And it can also be spectacular for your business. I know, I know. Many of you are about to pile on like fat kids attacking (19 comments)
