What is up with Philadelphia Appraisers ? Getting a mortgage is hard enough these days with borrowers having to give blood samples and piles of documentation in order to get a loan approved. And if you are lucky enough to make it through that, keep your fingers crossed that the house you are under contract for appraises for value. Take the stairs for a change. I cannot count how many buyers have turned their nose up at homes that feature a center staircase. That is unfortunate because in Philadelphia, particularly in the older turn-of-the-century homes found in and around Center City, a center staircase is the prevalent design.
