We're buzzed to see that Peco Energy Co.'s residential supply charge will decrease 10.6 percent starting January 1. According to Philly.com, "its price for most residential customers would decrease from 11.14 cents per kilowatt hour to 9.96 cents. For a customer using 500 kilowatt hours, the monthly savings would amount to $5.90." Not huge, but we'll take it! Why the change? The charge is adjusted according to market conditions. Open Houses. I have a love hate relationship with them. Love them when the Real Estate Market is HOT. Not so much when the Real Estate Market is not. When we list a property for sale or for rent, we always ask the showing agent for feedback. We want to know how the property showed, if it was priced right, and if there are any constructive comments they wish to pass on. A recent study shows that if your home is within 500 feet of a billboard in Philadelphia, on average it is worth $30,000 less than your neighbors who are in the same neighborhood but more than 500 feet from a billboard. The study, Beyond Aesthetics: How Billboards Affect Real Estate Economic Prosperity, uses 2010 sale price data and was conducted by Jonathan Snyder , Certified Master Planner. Really?
