active rain: Take Action: Love People
- 07/30/20 08:29 AM
"We too often love things and use people when we should use things and love people." An Unknown Author Your action for today is to contact a friend or family member and tell them you love them. I'll be calling my son who's 22, attending Sac State, working as a security guard for the campus, and always "too busy" to call Dad. 🎵...and the Cat's in the Craddle and the Silver Spoon...🎶 Design an extraordinary Thursday! active rain: Take Action: Seek the Truth
- 07/28/20 06:14 AM
"In seeking truth you have to get both sides of a story." ~ Broadcaster, Walter Cronkite Your action for today is to revisit a situation where you made some conclusions about something or someone that may not be totally accurate because you didn't have all the facts. My trusted holistic healer / nutritionist I used to think performed a charlatan's voodoo. It looked ridiculous and fake to the skeptical eye. But, once I got to understand energy healing I completely retracted my suspicions and now heal 3 times faster through her than my doctor when sick or afflicted. active rain: Take Action: Learn The Lesson
- 07/27/20 03:40 PM
"Here's the key to being free from the stranglehold of past failures and mistakes: learn the lesson and forget the details." An Unknown Author Your action for today is to reflect on a lesson you've learned from a past mistake. One lesson for me to learn from was: dwelling on the past. It's a mistake to miss your present by dwelling on your past. Past mistakes, loses, past relationships and past "used to be's" . Learning to improvise, adapt and overcome afforded me surving my past mistakes and traumas; eventually thriving in the "new normal". Weed your garden, make room for the blooms! I discuss that more here: Improvise, Adapt and Overcome If

- 07/25/20 08:32 AM
"If you can't learn to do something well, learn to enjoy doing it badly." ~ Baseball Analyst, Bill James Your action for today is to identify something that you're not very good at, and by looking at it with a new perspective find something to like about it. For me that is the absolute joy I get from playing guitar and drums. I play daily, and I'm amazing... ...ly mediocre 😂🤣😂 But what a JOY! it is to learn and make music, even when I'm my only audience. active rain: Take Action: Be Nice
- 07/24/20 08:37 AM
"It is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice." An Unknown Author Your action for today is to write a thank you card or note to someone. I have received 3 personal notes in 20 years from Brian Buffini of Buffini & Company and each made my day. I have written over 7,000 personal notes in my real estate career. I know my number because I've documented them in my CRM, along with calls, pop-bys and client parties. When you write a note to someone, the question to ask yourself is how can I bless this person's day? When they read it, it should warm them

active rain: Take Action: Not Words
- 07/23/20 02:52 AM
"Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned." ~ Clergyman, Peter Marshall Your action for today is to do something that helps the environment, such as using less water, or bringing your own mug when you buy coffee at a coffee shop. We stopped buying bottled water 12 years ago. We use a local well, water delivery service out of Santee, CA and we invested in metal hiking canteens and lets face it, title companies always give away hard-plastic water bottles. No more trashing Mother Nature's fine work - with mostly non-recyclable plastic throw away bottles. active rain: Take Action: Balancing
- 07/22/20 05:22 AM
"Life is like riding a bike. It is impossible to maintain your balance while standing still." Author, Linda Brakeall Your action for today is to take a specific action that will help you experience a greater sense of balancing. Truly, it is never "100% in balance"-a destination you arrive at in life, it's a constant action towards and awareness of balancing and understanding that something is always in need of attention and being at peace with that, because...that's just life. For me it's goal setting, scheduling those goals in my daily planner and time blocking in the 5 Major Circles of Life. courtesy of Buffini & Company You can't just write them

active rain: Take Action: Sweat!
- 07/21/20 07:31 AM
"Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more you sweat, the luckier you get." McDonald's Founder, Ray Kroc Your action for today is to think of an area in your life, either personal or professional, where you can put forth more effort to achieve better results. My professional concentrated effort is in better communication than expected with my clients. My personal concentrated effort is focused on my health this year: conscious food choices and an exercise plan. How about you? If you missed the previous Take Action post: Take Action: Be Happy! active rain: Now is the Perfect Time for Homeowners to Sell
- 07/21/20 07:16 AM
Now is the perfect time for homeowners to sell... Buyers are back looking for homes and entering the (almost) post-Covid housing market, while sellers over all are enjoying a robust and competitive market. However, I'll caution you here in San Diego that move-in-ready sells quicker in most areas of our county, much faster than homes with deferred maintenance. The housing market is experiencing a mini-boom that will last, perhaps, until the end of 2020 and into 2021. As a homeowner and to the real estate professionals out there, you need to take advantage of this demand. You have equity in your home, you

"If you can't help it, don't think about it." Actor, Carmel Myers Your action for today is to take a situation that has you worried. See if there is some action you can take to address it. If there is, take it. If there isn't, let it go and focus on something else. active rain: June ActiveRain Amnesia - I Want My Posts Back! maybe...
- 07/18/20 07:18 AM
I'm happy to report, while most of my June was long gone on the Google archives, I did recover my very last post in June by using Craig Daniels instructions on this post and here's the proof: RECOVERED June 28th POST - Take Action: See It, Appreciate It Pop by Craig's original post, give it a try and thank him on his comments. It felt good to take positive actions steps and reclaim a lost post! I know Active Rain is working on it, but it was fun to feel like I knew what I was doing in the tech world...thanks Craig! Thank You Craig Daniels his posted recovery info worked! June ActiveRain Amnesia - I Want My Posts Back! maybe... ...The Beauty In Your Life "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~Confucius Your action for today is to pay attention every time you walk into a new place, a garden, or room. Stop for a moment and look for its beauty. Design an extraordinary day! Three of my favorite hobbies bring this daily opportunity into my observations of the moment: golf, hiking and gardening. I always laugh at my Dad who prides himself on getting through 18 holes of golf in 3.5 hours. What!?! We're on millions of dollars worth of beautiful landscaped property and he wants to get through it.

"People of character do the right thing, not because they think it will change the world but because they refuse to be changed by the world." ~ Ethicist, Michael Josephson Your action for today is is to reflect on a time when you did the right thing and one where you didn't. Take time to notice the difference and how you felt at both times. I was taught by an antidote long ago, you can be the carrot, the egg or the coffee bean. The world is a boiling pot: You can let it make you soft/weak like the carrot turns in boiling water You can let it make

active rain: Take Action: Fuel Your Opinion with Facts
- 07/17/20 07:28 AM
Fuel Your Opinion with Facts "The fewer the facts, the stronger the opinion." Psychologist, Arnold Glasgow Your action for today is to see if you can gather some additional facts about a strong opinion you have. Political Facts Racial Facts Health Facts Market Facts Other ? Facts ...all seem to be lacking in 2020 and causing people to behave out of fearful click-bait and headlines, rather than on factual, researched information. Jim Rohn used to say "Be a student, not a follower; do your own research, form your own opinion." Zig Ziglar used to say fear is...

- 07/16/20 06:39 AM
Today's post is the epitome of the Take Action series purpose... "Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." ~ Will Rogers Your action for today is to take one of your "to-do's" and either do it or remove it from your list. While it is definitely empowering to accomplish your goals, your tasks and to-do lists, it can be equally empowering to hit stop or even delete on recurring goals & tasks that make every list, yet never are completed. Ask yourself why? Consider hitting stop and waiting 3 months to see if that's a better time to tackle that goal/task. If you still can't start

active rain: Take Action: Measure Your Wealth
- 07/15/20 07:08 AM
Measure wealth not by the things you have, but by the things you have for which you would not take money." An Unknown Author Your action for today is to count all those things you have in your life that are priceless. You know the old question: "If your home was on fire, what would you grab on the way out?" The last 10 years of my life, despite some major life challenges and set backs, I've mostly been truly happy. That has lead me to this answer to that question: From my heart and my gut... My Bride, My Son and My Dog and if there were time, maybe... the painting in

- 07/13/20 06:26 AM
"My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure." ~ Abraham Lincoln Your action for today is to review a recent success you've had and see if you owe some of that success to a failure from your past. Failures are Feedback in our "student of life" lives. They are in fact the feedback that warns... this is not the way. It doesn't mean you quit, it means try something different. Don't quit; adjust. active rain: Joining The 1,000,000 Points Club...AGAIN!!!
- 07/13/20 05:23 AM
Thanks to the tech issues with Active Rain and massive June posts & points loss, I was able to do something pretty unique in the Rain: I crossed the 1,000,000 point level for a second time this year!!! How you ask? I let a set-back become a set-up for a comeback. I didn't stop penning, posting and participating due to the loss. Setbacks are part of life, marriage, family, business, health, etc. We need time to process the 5 stages of grief that come with each: Denial Anger Bargaining Depression. Acceptance We need to go through these stages for loss: a loved one, a job, a marriage or thousands of points in this case...which
