la jolla: Your Network Builds Your Net Worth... If You Invest Action Into It! - 07/29/17 10:17 PM
I have multiple Networks which are gathered in my CRM.

There is of course my natural network, all the businesses I do business with naturally to fulfill my monthly needs like stores, dry cleaning, fuel, car wash, restaurants, etc. I make sure they know what I do and how I have a Working By Referral business model, which survives on ...REFERRALS!

I have my 3 main Realtor Networks I belong to: Buffini & Company , Active Rain and CRS, all with their own internal referral networks across the USA and Canada.
I mostly refer and get referrals out of Buffini & ActiveRain, determined by what … (5 comments)

la jolla: IL Dolce Far Niente Di Domenica: UCSD's Science Research Park?-4 - 07/04/17 08:10 AM
The Sweet Nothing of Sundays 4th of July Edition

Shhhh, I’m doing Sunday, My Silent Sunday.

No Phone, No Text, No Emails, No Meetings...Silence.

Sometimes we flop all day and relax, read books, work in the garden, etc.- then go for an evening hike to get some exercise and enjoy the beauty of San Diego. Today we hiked a trail that pops us out (eventually) on the UCSD Medical Center in Science Research Park, adjacent to UCSD. There's a curious building here, it looks out of place. I've driven past this for years never noticing it; it took hiking to discover the obvious.

What is this … (6 comments)

la jolla: Working By Referral and Running Our Business Like Business - 06/26/17 09:12 PM
Working By Referral

Why I Run My Business This Way

and

Why I Recommend It To Other Agents

There are two categories of agents in our industry:

1. Relational: they value relationships as more important than transactions. They put the client's needs ahead of their own and think long-term.
2. Transactional: it's all about them and the commission. They find clients, close the escrow and move on, poof! they vanish-short sighted.

I believe our clients deserve better from us. They are making the largest purchase, sale or investment of their personal lives, we owe them what a family doctor or dentist owes their patients: Competence & Character and … (11 comments)

la jolla: TED Talked To Me and Asked: What Are You Seeking? - 06/25/17 08:45 PM

What are you seeking?
What is your untapped potential?

I'm just thinking out loud here, Ted Talks inspired me a bit today while hiking.

Don't pass up the opportunity to do good for someone,
because you're too busy seeking the opportunity to be doing something great for you. Look for opportunities (those impulses you feel sometimes) to do random acts of kindness to full dedication to your cause, community or peeps.
Don't wait to become a millionaire before you start helping other people; if you have something to give, give it now. It's not always money,  it's your time, your talent, or just a empathetic ear … (2 comments)

We discuss John's banking background, which offered him a firsthand look at how our government handles loans, rates and even how they report inflation rates...let's just say if the government lived in Disneyland, you'd find them in Fantasy Land.
John Agostinelli founded Agostinelli Realty Group in 1997 and has been focusing on creating value for his clients for over 25 years. Building homes, helping people invest, buy & list their own … (1 comments)

Episode #94 of the Mail-Right

Real Estate Agent Podcast

Tom Cafarella

Tom Cafarella really comes across like a relational guy and Ocean City Development LLC is the kind of company you’d want to partner with as a real estate agent. When you have a client who's situation just can't get resolved by traditional real estate re-sale, refer it to Tom, get a fair offer, make money on the sale and then list it for him when they bring it back to the market. It’s a great win-win-win-win! The seller gets a quick, clean deal that they may not get from the retail public, the agent gets 2 deals, Tom’s crew takes an … (1 comments)

la jolla: It's a Balancing Act, Never True Balance, That Sets You Free! - 05/02/17 06:42 AM
I'm well trained on this topic by Buffini & Company and much of what I preach here is from that 17 years of training.
You will actually defeat the purpose of the peace of mind you seek, if you seek "balance" in your life. Balance is a myth. What you seek is always in flux, therefore it's balancing you seek; those precious moments where you achieve the escape from your business and truly focus on your life, family and goals.
I have posted so often on this topic, I feel I've already entered Jeff Dowler's wonderful contest 100 times. So here's the best of what I can offer you, … (5 comments)

Riches in The Niches
Since moving to San Diego, CA I was able to reinvent my business and actually specialize in 3 very distinct groups.

UCSD Campus in La Jolla, CA

la jolla: Hiking The UCSD Challenge Course in La Jolla, CA - 04/25/17 06:55 AM

I love having Sundays off, as one of my favorite things to do is go day hiking.

I don't always go to locally famous trails or big picturesque locations; in fact some times I just head out my front door and see where my "urban trails" lead me. Today, they lead me to the UCSD Challenge Course.

I never knew about his trail and "boot camp" style course, but I'd always caught a glimpse of it from my campus hikes. Today I decide to venture off the path and onto the trail and wow, look what I discovered, all while never leaving UCSD's expansive … (5 comments)

la jolla: The Real Estate Business is Going Out of Business - 03/29/17 07:39 AM
IS The Real Estate Business Going Out of Business?
We have so much technology available to use today. A person wanting to buy a home can go online, search homes, research schools, walk the neighborhood on Google Maps and even pre-qualify themselves with on an online mortgage calculator. Sellers have self-service opportunities too. There are Apps coming, if not already available, that will allow a homeowner to connect to a home buyer through the APP, strike a deal and close a sale of a home.
Problem: a great agent, makes Real estate look easy. The perspective is skewed.

la jolla: Are We Selling The American Dream in San Diego, CA? - 03/21/17 10:32 PM
Are Any of Us? Do you Mr. Realtor in your piece of the USA? Do you Mrs. Real estate agent in your home town, America?  What do you really sell?  What do you really promote?

This post was inspired by:
Lee Davenport's post: ARE WE STILL DREAMING ABOUT HOMEOWNERSHIP?

"We as real estate practitioners likely do not openly focus enough on the importance of homeownership. We exclaim verbally and post socially why we love our favorite restaurants, sports team, luxury brands and other objects of our affection. Yet, often we are mum on WHY  homeownership matters, such as its wealth creation and generational transferable power. "
