realtor: Get After It: Seek Adventure, Not Security - 07/25/20 03:44 PM

It doesn't matter how long you live,
it matters how you live
~ Jim Rohn

Jim used to mention his mentor, Mr. Schoeff.
He would offer antidotes to Jim like this one:
"Poor thinking habits keep most people poor.
You mind is a factory pouring into
your thoughts, your attitude, your decisions.
What you pour in, is what you get out.
You've got to stand guard at the door of your mind."
~Mr. Schoeff.

Your action for today
is to take 20 minutes to evaluate
what you have been pouring in lately;
is it time to change the ingredients,
or are they serving you well?

realtor: Take Action: Eliminate It - 07/12/20 05:53 AM

"The ability to simplify
means to eliminate the unnecessary
so that the necessary may speak."
~Artist, Hans Hofmann

Your action for today
is to eliminate something that is unnecessary
- from your office, car, home or schedule.

I have done several things to honor thios during
our shelter in place 2020.

Cleaned the office. Cleaned the garage. Organized the book shelves. Tossed out clothes I haven't worn in over a year. Deleted memberships to Facebook Groups I never visit. Eliminated multiple Zoom meetings from my week is the latest. The organization was liberating, gave me a sense of accomplishment and opened up my schedule for … (8 comments)

April Showers Bring May Flowers:
The San Diego Real Estate Market & Economy
This Week (4 of COVID-19 Shelter In Place)
San Diego Association of REALTORS weekly update April 8, 2020 brought encouraging FACTS and News:

I'll be sharing Local San Diego, CA stats as well as global stats.
Local Economist Mr. Allan Nevin reports "WE ARE NOT IN A 1929 DEPRESSION" We are in a recession, one we were expecting for some time now, so no surprise here. My feelings are that we'll hardly notice the recession since we're all preoccupied with COVID-19 and the government, unlike any other recession, is providing relief loans / … (7 comments)

realtor: How Realtors Can Fill Their Pipeline During COVID-19 - 04/04/20 07:02 AM
How Realtors Can Fill Their Pipeline During COVID-19  BY SARAH LAYTON | COPYWRITER & INMAN STAR CONTRIBUTORPandemic or not, Sarah provides us with a great list I'd use as a Business Plan for success in 2020 and beyond. We have so much we can accomplish from our home offices while we shelter in place to "flatten the curve".
I've actually been implementing many of these tips below for years, but never more so than the last 3 weeks. I woke up and realized I had neglected some of these fundamentals; a realization that has been making the last 3 weeks extremely busy playing catch up. Calling my … (4 comments)

realtor: Keep Calm, Wash Your Hands: COVID-19 San Diego And California INFO - 03/15/20 11:44 AM
COVID-19 San Diego And California
As a business owner #SmallBusinessStrong, husband, father and good neighbor I'm staying positive, calm and keeping informed. The risk of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for the general San Diego County population remains low. Take precautions, be safe and sane with common sense decisions. It's business as usual for me so far, in fact our real estate market is busier than 2017 when we had seemed to peak. This too shall pass (as did the previous 6 pandemics in the last 17 years). This too shall pass and then how will we remember our actions, behavior, competence … (12 comments)

You Get the Talent That You Pay For!

If my work looks easy or I get your home sold in hours not days or weeks, it’s because I’ve spent 21 years (so far) annually training  and weekly working in the trenches to have that talent. You pay me for the knowledge, skills and years invested, not the time it took me to get your result. You Get the Talent That You Pay For.

realtor: Summer Soldiers: The Reality of Discount Realty (Part 2) - 08/05/18 11:42 AM
Continued From Part 1

What drives REALTORS®

What this strategy does is allow REX to double-end or represent both sides of the deal, thus making the 2% they do charge, which is only .5% below the average commission these days paid. We’re seeing many 5.5% - 5% - 4% listings in our San Diego MLS. Again, the fee is negotiable, and I feel the fee offered reflects the skills set of the listing agent; with exception to military discounts, repeat client rewards, similar-etc.

Regarding Buyers: You pay no fees typically with a buyer’s agent from any company as the buyers’ agents are paid by the … (0 comments)

realtor: The Race To The Bottom: $99.00 Listings? - 05/18/18 07:59 AM
Do you support an MLS

that supports this?

We're hired for the Big 3

Marketing

Negotiating

Problem Solving

Sellers still need negotiators and problem solvers, but damn, why give away the MLS access and marketing?

FSBO's have always been around and over 80% of them convert to a REALTOR® when they realize they have no clue what they are doing. FSBO's also leave an average of 13% of their potential capital gains on the table for lack of the BIG 3. Broker's that flat fee supports them have always been around too, but I do not understand why our MLS supports this practice?

BUT THIS ISN'T ABOUT FOR SALE BY OWNERS!

realtor: I'm Certain There's Uncertainty! - 04/25/18 05:14 PM
I got a kick out of this list, a list only a seasoned, quality agent could pen. We do see so much, we do know so much. But, we still have them days too. Always know your value, be able to communicate and never let anyone rob you of it. I think Liz and Bill Spear did a great job on this list, it's worth a read, I've read it twice it's so nice!

realtor: Thank You to CRS Magazine 4 Featuring Our Annual Gratitude Gathering! - 03/27/18 09:18 PM
I was very flattered to be interviewed by CRS  Magazine (aka RRC now) about what has become a very big tradition in my business and for my clients and service providers:

Our Annual Gratitude Gathering aka The Reverse Pop-By for Pie Party!

Why revers pop-by? Typically throughout the year I pop-by my clients homes and service providers places of business and so forth and do a quick face to face 5 minute check in. I typically drop off a thought gift or item of value and just see how they are doing and let them know I appreciate them!

But, at this event, I … (5 comments)

We interview a man who is very misunderstood in this “bonus” episode of our Mail-Right Podcast:
Greg Hague is known for his STOP ZILLOW Campaign, which is now his www.plantosaverealestate.com movement.
Many of you have heard of this, but may not know the full story. This is about reclaiming our industry as entrepreneurs and agents; an industry we naively gave away over the last 10 years. NAR, CAR and our local boards have their head in the sand, it’s up to us! Too … (0 comments)

After years of experience at top companies (Yahoo and eBay), then building and selling two successful businesses (to companies like Zynga), Jon and Kelly set out to do it for a third time. Why? Serial entrepreneurship is a real thing, but they also realized they could tackle a huge problem: complicated, unusable CRMs. In turn, ProsperWorks was built to offer businesses of any size a CRM teams actually want to use.
