highlands: The Navy Lends a Hand in Highlands - 10/27/09 12:44 PM

Just last week Highlands was the lucky recipient of some community outreach from over 30 sailors from the USS Nassau which was docked at Naval Weapons Station Earle.
They helped restore the Kavookijian War Memorial Field, an ongoing project, did some cleanup landscape work at War Memorial Monument nearby, and more.
Later in the week they volunteered at the Robert D. Wilson Community Center where their work included painting the skate park.

highlands: Buying My First Home - a personal account - 06/22/09 09:06 PM

Of course, had I purchased a home during that time, even a small co-op apartment, I likely would have had substantial equity to help me make my eventual move out … (0 comments)

highlands: Eastern Monmouth County 3rd Qtr Market Activity - 11/12/08 05:11 AM

My recommendation to my buyer and investor clients is to be educated about the market you're shopping in.  What this means is to be familiar with the inventory, get a sense of what a given price range should provide you in a particular town or neighborhood, keep track of average price, list-to-sale price ratios and days on the market.
And of course (WARNING: shameless self-promotion approaching!) make sure you're working with an experienced realtor who is a full-time professional and knows your market!  It shocks me how often consumers entrust such an important financial transaction to agents who are no … (0 comments)

highlands: September Market Update - 10/22/08 12:21 PM
Sorry for the delay.  This was from my September Monthly Market Update:
Summer's over and everyone is back to their tasks at hand... kids are in school, the beach gear is packed in the garage, and all the much-beloved distractions of summertime at the shore are put on the shelf till next year.  Typically, this is a season when we see a good number of new homes enter the market as well as buyers who now have some time to consider what their next move will be.  How 'bout you? Be sure to give me a call if you're thinking about moving.   A quick pulse read … (0 comments)
