rumson: NY Post Article on Rumson Luxury Homes Gets a Rise and Gets it Wrong! - 08/31/10 09:33 AM
The New York Post ran an article this weekend which got a lot of attention in Monmouth County as it was highlighting the higher end of the market, specifically in Rumson, NJ.  If you'd like to read the full article you can do so on the NY Post website.
Ultimately I don’t think this is a new story… basically they’re saying “prices are down and there’s a lot of inventory” but that’s basically been the story for about three years now.  All they’ve done is make it very specific to one part of the market and made it a bit … (1 comments)

J. R. Hanna, president of the Dad Vail Regatta organization issued a statement: "After carefully evaluating all of the factors related to optimizing the success of staging the year 2010 Dad Vail Regatta at which attendance is expected to exceed 3,500 rowers, and after serious deliberation taking into consideration the many voices of Dad Vail stakeholders near and far, an official, final decision has been made to stage the year … (2 comments)

rumson: Q: Are Sellers being reasonable? - 12/15/08 05:32 AM
Question:  "Well, having found our feet in Monmouth Country and a much better idea of where we want to live (and more importantly, where we don't want to live), we've really narrowed down our geographic search. But, my question to you is, "Are sellers being reasonable?"  I know that not all sellers listen to their real estate agents and thus we see the property sitting on the market for a long time - do you think they're more reasonable now? What "give" if any are you seeing from the asking prices these days?"

rumson: Salt Creek Grille, Rumson, NJ Events - 10/31/08 07:52 AM
I love the Salt Creek Grille in Rumson, NJ.  It's beautiful architecturally with a dark Craftsman aesthetic and stunning views of the Navesink River, especially at sunset.
There's much to love on the menu and it's suitable for a casual dinner with friends or a more formal affair.
Best of all, Salt Creek offers some great events such as Happy Hour Weekdays, Monday thru Friday, 4 to 6:30 pm featuring 1/2 Price Wines by the Glass (nice selection)...  Plus they offer a very generous complimentary food bar. On Mondays its Mexican, Barbeque on Tuesday, Italian on Wednesday, Wing Night on Thursday and Seafood … (1 comments)

rumson: Market Report: Rumson, NJ 3rd Qtr 2008 - 10/29/08 01:07 PM

(Please note: all figures for past years indicate year-end totals unless otherwise indicated.)

Sales in Rumson for the first 3 quarters of 2008 have been sluggish relative to the same period last year with unit sales down 32%. For last year during the same period, 94 homes were sold.  It's clear that buyers have not been feeling the need to take action.  For some this is because they are unable to move forward with a purchase until they've sold their current home.  For others, the uncertainty in all markets has kept them on the sidelines until they're feeling more … (0 comments)

rumson: September Market Update - 10/22/08 12:21 PM
Sorry for the delay.  This was from my September Monthly Market Update:
Summer's over and everyone is back to their tasks at hand... kids are in school, the beach gear is packed in the garage, and all the much-beloved distractions of summertime at the shore are put on the shelf till next year.  Typically, this is a season when we see a good number of new homes enter the market as well as buyers who now have some time to consider what their next move will be.  How 'bout you? Be sure to give me a call if you're thinking about moving.   A quick pulse read … (0 comments)
