We're on a roll at Showhomes! Showhomes' Cindy Montgomery, possibly one of the best home stagers in the country, emailed me with pics of a home that sold this week in 7 days. Edina Realty Realtor Paul Pudlitzke is surely happy with this result. This renovated infill home had been on the market for a long time before. Within 7 days of moving our Home Managers in and staging the home sold for very near asking price. Take a look:

Townhouses and condos are hard to sell in tough markets. Unlike single family homes, townhouses and condos swing in price much more rapidly and in today's real estate market there is a glut of unsold inventory. unfortunatley for buyers, much of this inventory is vacant. We often talk about color and contrast and how contrast, even with the lack of color, can make rooms 'sticky' so potential buyers remember the home and the room. I read a post recently about 'dead heads' - the use of stuffed animal heads. In most cases, this can be distasteful and look overly masculine. Beside being potentially offensive to vegitarians, they can be downright scary to little kids. I have begin to see, however, more of these objects crop up in our homes as our stagers try creative ways to use them in rooms. Here is an example from a home we staged in Minneapolis last week:
