I was able to go home and visit Mom & Dad for my birthday. Mom made my usual birthday cake, chocolate with white icing, and decorated it with sugar sprinkles. Dad wasn't satisifed with that, though, and went out and got the candles and the hard sugar decorations. He's such a softie! I am really blessed to have the parents I do! And the cake was good, too!

condo: Glass Block Window Installation - October 18, 2012

I had glass block windows installed in my basement yesterday. I debated installing them myself, but for the difference in the installation costs, it just made sense to have them install the windows. I still have quite a job finishing out the inside of the windows, which will take days to get finished (work on it a little a day). This morning I'm planning to apply mortar around the inside of the windows to even out the brick walls. Then on to finishing out the framing. I may be finished by next weekend...

I had the pleasure of attending the opening reception of "Inspiration", featuring the artwork of my friend, Christopher Schulte, and ten other artists. I helped a couple nights last week in getting the exhibit set up, but didn't work at the reception, so was just able to visit and enjoy it. There are was great turn out, and a number of pieces were sold, with proceeds going to "The Will Flores Fund", which in turn donates funds to various local charities.
