investment: Today in St Louis - November 9, 2009 - 11/09/09 02:37 PM
Went down home yesterday to Mom & Dad's house in Perryville.  It was such a warm day (close to 70), that I wanted to just drive around and see the country and take some pictures.  (Wouldn't you know it; I forgot to charge my camera, and after several pics, it went dead).  We drove Mom & Dad down to Grandpa's farm outside of Uniontown.  I haven't been down there for a year.   Everything is falling down on the farm.  Tin is missing from the roof of the house and windows have broken out. investment: Great News! President Signs Bill to Extend Homebuyer Tax Credit! - 11/06/09 09:35 AM
Citing the rebound of the housing market as one of the factors contributing to the growth of the economy last year, President Obama today signed his approval of the bill extending and expanding the homebuyer tax credit.
The credit was originally set to expire at the end of November, but has now been extended to buyers who sign a contract by April 30, 2010 and close by June 30. 
The credit amount for first time home buyers is 10% of the homes purchase price to a maximum of $8,000.  Other buyers, who have owned their homes for the past five years, … (0 comments)

investment: Halloween 2009 in St Louis - 11/05/09 02:55 AM
Halloween was slow for us this year.  I don't know if it was because the holiday fell on the weekend, and parents had their children at Halloween parties instead of out trick-or-treating.  Last year we had close to 300 kids come to the house.  The weather was beautiful Saturday evening, but we didn't even have 100 kids show up.

I just recently closed another short sale in the St Louis area.  This one was with Ocwen.  I began working on this file on May 6, 2009, and we closed with the new buyer on September 4, 2009 - so about four months.  The people with whom I dealt were in India, and the hold times (phone) were horrible.  One day I was on hold for four hours before I was able to speak to someone, and then I couldn't understand half of what they were saying.  They would not send someone out to do the BPO (Broker Price Opinion, but made … (0 comments)
