It's common knowledge that today, 87% of buyers are searching for homes on the internet. They are still using real estate agents to buy the homes; however, buyers are going to the internet before and during their home search in greater numbers each day. Now, let's say 87% of all buyers were searching in your local newspaper for a home. Would you hire an agent who ran 1 ad a month in the newspaper or would you prefer to go with the real estate agent who ran an ad everyday? Dumb question, huh? 1. Trash cans out of site - all of them. You never see a trash can in a model home. 2. Toilet seats down at all times (except when in use of course!) 3. Not advertising your open house is just like having a party and not inviting anyone. Why bother? Pull out a calendar and SCHEDULE your open houses. PLAN for them. And, most important of all, ADVERTISE them! Make sure when you advertise, you also add directions that are easy to follow - (not everyone has a GPS). Advertise a drawing for a free Flip video camera. Adam Thoroughgood arrived in Virginia as an indentured servant in 1621. He became a key figure in the settlement of the South Hampton Roads area. His home is estimated to have been built sometime between 1680 and 1720, making it one of the oldest standing homes in America. The property became a museum in the 1950's and is now owned by the City of Virginia Beach, VA. In the 1960's it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
