attitude: If You Think You Can, You Are Right ? - 07/19/10 03:31 AM

If You THINK You Can - You're Right? Henry Ford is famously quoted as saying, "Whether you think you can or think you can't - You're Right!" In the childhood rhyme, 'The Little Engine That Could', we seem to find agreement with this idea when the little engine manages to climb the tall hill by saying, over and over "I think I can, I think I can." From wikipedia.org:  In the tale, a long train must be pulled over a high mountain. Various larger engines, treated anthropomorphically, are asked to pull the train; for various reasons they refuse. The request is sent to … (1 comments)

attitude: Managing Your Attitude ? - 01/16/08 03:36 AM
Am ReTelling a story I heard once.  I did not write the parable, or concept, but this is my own version.  It is a story can be useful when managing sales people, or managing one's self
           CHICKEN OR FEATHERS?
The sales game can be a lot like chasing chickens.  Some days you catch the chicken and you get a nice payoff because you get to eat the meat that is the result of your work.  Some days you miss the chicken and get nothing.  But the hardest days can be the days you only get a mouth full of feathers.
Let me explain:  … (7 comments)

attitude: Consumer Confidence - IGNORING THE NEWS - Surging Ahead ? - 08/28/07 02:42 AM
FIRST, LET ME SAY THIS:I know that we make our own luck and make our own markets. We have to keep our head out of the doom and gloom newscasts.  I do not participate in water cooler whining about a down market...  So far this year was shaping up as my best ever...  so I have been keeping my attituded where it needs to be.
THE NEWS IS FINALLY GETTING TO MEConsumer confidence seems to be withering with this recent onslaught of negative news in mortgage and housing sector.   I confess to having finally been at least dampened by the overwhelming sea of bad news in the mortgage sector, what that … (15 comments)

attitude: Thoughts Become Things: Thought For Today - On High Standards - 08/28/07 02:09 AM
Received this today from my subscription of daily motivational thoughts, from www.Tut.com
It seems highly appropriate to encourage all Realtors as we strive to serve in the Noble Profession that puts client interests ahead of our own....
Some of the coolest dreams that ever came true, Lonn, weren't dreams at all, but standards that      simply weren't compromised.
Oh yeah, we takin' over...           The Universe
PS,  I have no affiliation, but I highly recommend the daily email service from Mike Dooley at TUT.com for provocative and inspiring daily thoughts, outside the box, on how we create and choose our world.  Mike says, … (3 comments)

attitude: Blasting at Rocks, or Chasing Your Dreams? - 08/19/07 03:39 PM
Blasting at Rocks or Chasing Your Dreams?
A Modern Parable About Following your dream vs fighting the immovable....
A man felt especially capable one day and decided to climb a mountain.  Along the way, he made great progress until he found his path blocked by a large, immovable rock.
He could have gone around the rock, or over the rock, but he was feeling especially strong.  Nevermind that the rock was rightfully placed on that path, had arrived first, and was causing no harm....  The man took it on himself to decide that the rock was in the wrong and should not be … (5 comments)

attitude: Flying with Eagles, or Flocking With Turkeys? - 07/18/07 07:46 AM
Active Rain is a nice place to talk shop.  But what kind of shop are you talking?
Does it matter what you allow yourself to think about and talk about?  Are you waiting for the market to bring you business, or are you going after it in faith?
Let's consider Eagles and Turkeys.  Eagles go get their prey.  They chase it and GRAB for it while Turkeys just wander and hope they luck onto some food.  BIG DIFFERENCE.
Here in Greater Toledo, the sky already fell.  The turkeys are gobbling and cackling about doom and gloom while the Eagles are soaring....
Our market overall is down … (6 comments)

attitude: The ATTRACTION PRINCIPLE - 06/30/07 01:49 PM
Do you study the ATTRACTION PRINCIPLE ?
Do you believe you create your world by the thoughts you hold?
The good book says... Whatsoever is Good, whatsoever is pure, whatsoever is lovely and of good report, on these things meditate.
Same thing?
Thoughts become things, choose the good ones.  Make sense?
Some people visualize getting a good parking space....
Parking spaces are good... but I find that Listing Calls and Sale Contracts are better : )
I visualize contracts coming in on my listings.  I also visualize FSBO Sellers calling me.  I list the current listings I think will sell next.
Written visualizations are powerful :)
Finally.... I … (8 comments)
