It is a mistake to approach today's online communities the same way you approached them one or two years ago. 
THIS IS BECAUSE THEY HAVE CHANGED. 
Read that again.  A rapidly moving group discovered the Internet, and then....... WHAT? 
FROZE?  STOPPED THEIR ENDLESS QUEST TO LEARN MORE & DO MORE?   
HARDLY!
AR's early days were more "engaging" as far as I was concerned.  But then again, this was true for ARPANET, as well as COMPUSERVE, and AOL, and MySpace, to name a few...  
Here is $.02 that is worth a Million Bucks:  (I am preaching to myself as much as anybody)

Recessions cause most businesses to pull back on advertising and marketing. 
But this could be shooting yourself in the foot. 
Textbook advice is to stay aggressive in the face of the cyclical market downturn.
It's the best way to position a business for future growth once the market turns. 
So Remember:  Out of Sight is Out of Mind - and don't become an INVISIBLE AGENT.
And don't make your sellers homes INVISIBLE HOMES by scrimping on marketing.

We coaches used to say, "IF YOU KEEP DOING WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING - YOU WILL KEEP GETTING WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN GETTING."  The idea was to follow up with a question - HOW IS THAT WORKING FOR YOU?  WANNA MAKE A CHANGE?
Or, turned inside out, THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY:  CONTINUING TO DO WHAT YOU HAVE ALWAYS DONE - WHILE EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS...

Some find themselves wondering what will be the next invention to surpass this one.
Could it be Video?  Youtube is already being chased by imitators. 
Oh for the good old days when a mere web site could set you apart from the crowd...  
Now you have to have a blog linked to a stealth site, targeted to your main site, hosting video....  
Or you could become a nobody before you ever get to be a somebody!

TAG Lines and Branding help people remember us, attach emotions or values to our name.
For Branding, I use "American Dream Team" because it conjures up pride and hope and sense of opportunity
For Tag Lines I use:  Buy Smart, Pay Less, Get More (because it communicates LOGIC and a BUSINESSLIKE approach while demonstrating that I UNDERSTAND the prospect's FELT NEEDS). 
And also, Dugan Delivers!  (because it communicates CONFIDENCE and SERVICE). 
Sometimes I roll it all together like this.  Find Out Why People Say Dugan Delivers on the American Dream!  because it appeals to curiosity and makes it sound like the service is so good that everybody … (4 comments)
