Candlewood Lake is situated in Western CT and is within 90 minutes of Manhattan. Candlewood Lake is a man made lake which was developed in the 1920's and is the largest lake in CT and one of the largest man made lakes in the United States. It has approximately 90 miles of shoreline and is 8.4 square miles. This lake ranges 11 miles from South to North and is about 2 miles wide at it's widest point.
