activerain: One day I thought I had something to say; I guess at 400,000 I still have plenty to talk about. - 09/02/09 03:39 AM
It was just a few years ago someone suggested I take up blogging. I told them I really did not think I had much to say. What an understatement from someone like me. Well, little did I know I would jump first into something that I thought would have been a general pastime. I have come to be part of a large wonderful group known as activerain. They are my friends, my colleagues, my mentors, and more. Sure, it's great that by tuning myself into a pro-active advertising media and it does not hurt that a was able to make more money because … (22 comments)

When you here the name Wisconsin , and in the Waukesha County Real Estate market often one will think of the Green Bay Packers . The Green Bay Packers are legendary in football, and even the NFL Superbowl trophy is named after Vince Lombardi. They are the most winning football team in NFL history, and are owned by the City of Green Bay. Vince Lombardi ,Vince Lombardi ; now there was a man that knew what the word sacrifice meant. Ask any of his players, his fans, and the people of Wisconsin , and far past Wisconsin. The players he had will tell you that … (6 comments)

activerain: Realtors: Get your game on, and perfect it now! - 03/12/09 11:25 AM
It is no secret that it has been a down market, and the economy could be better. I was talking a broker recently and I literally told this individual to quit their whining and get their game on, and perfect it.
Remember when the market was great and we were always interested in other avenues of business generation that could help us, and we just could not find the time to keep up with anything because we were so busy?
The time to perfect, tweak, and get it all lined up is now. When it gets busy, and we can't remember … (0 comments)

activerain: If You Could and Wanted To Move In The US Where Would It Be? What would you expect from your Realtor - 02/07/09 08:03 AM
I may be going off on a limb here but is it safe to say that many of us in activerain have become a creature of environment? I know people that have never moved more than one hundred miles from their town of origin. I have see young babies grow up grow to elementary, middle, high school, and have their own practices these days. Some have children, and grandchildren as well.
Personally I have had a chance to travel, visit, stay for a while (some not at my direction) and it puts a bug in you that lets you know that there are … (6 comments)

activerain: Reap What You Sow: Cultivating Avtiverain, the listing router, and other tools to bring High Yield. - 01/24/09 09:10 AM
Every season brings it's change of beauty, growth, elegance, and foliage. I was a farmer for some time and I remember distinctly when fall came around I worked on with getting all the rest of the crops out, lining up what needed work in the winter, fixing barn repairs, electric fencing had to make repaired and. When Winter hit, I would work on my tractor, resting some wire and insulator for my fencing, fix corrals, electrical work, and the list was extensive.
Spring was just as hectic getting out in the fields and clearing them., and then planting either corn, soy, … (4 comments)

activerain: The Real Estate Career: What we determined didn't work, and daring to be different! - 01/22/09 07:39 AM
I think I would be hard pressed if I were to start asking fellow activerain members if they have bought into systems, trainers, lead generators, and more and they did not work.
I can speak for myself that without proper attitude, enthusiasm, drive, and the ability to focus it would be hard to get into anything, and to be productive in the means I want to be productive by.
I also think the human side of me wants me to try new systems, respond to incredible, if not realistic offers, emails, and ideas.
I also will be the first one to … (106 comments)

Another great Monday morning in Wisconsin and it is going to be a productive day. As I send out my reminders to everyone that I work with this upcoming week I though I would put my facebook business card out there for any that may want to connect on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, and more. Have a magnificent week, and come Wednesday the dust will settle a little bit. Time to make the donuts.

activerain: One Day by Accident I found Activerain: 200,000 later and I have a new Perspective - 10/29/08 07:46 AM
I noticed when I was writing last night and keeping my posts in draft form that I have came up on 200,000. This is mind boggling to me since I found Activerain by breezing through the NAR magazine.
For me it has been an absolute joy. I could put a list together from everyone I have learned from and it suddenly hit me that it would be the entire site. The day that I added Jo Anne Smith Jo-Anne Smith-Belleville, Quinte and Prince Edward Region Real Estate, Ont.  , Ricardo Bueno Ricardo Bueno (a.k.a. activerain: Elm Grove, Wisconsin. A charming community of fine homes, shops, and neighborhoods. - 06/12/08 11:43 AM
Not too far from the City of Brookfield sits a charming area known as the Village of Elm Grove. It's proximaty to Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and Waukesha County lends to being recognized as a beautiful pocket of Waukesha County, and it's charm is spendid.
My secretaries used to tell me that if I did not go through Elm Grove and stop at the Chocolate Swan that I should keep on going. I often think that it was kind of going to extremes that they were willing to take a stand against chocolate verses me. The chocolate always won out, whether it was … (2 comments)

activerain: Tom Braatz; Working even harder than a rented mule, but new and improved! - 05/13/08 10:58 AM
Real Estate is an Industry where everyday you have to take a step back and look at the big picture. In the blink of an eye you can lose that important lead. We work in an Industry that involves rigorous time management and technology changes each day.
The concept of being personilized and creating your own niche is paramount, and really, why would we not just be ourselves.
I have been very fortunate to have some of the best customers and clients on Earth. Never under estimate the friendship that can devlop with having such customers and clients, let alone being … (7 comments)

activerain: Three complete and Distinct climates: Mitchell Park Conservatory (The Domes) A Milwaukee landmark - 02/28/08 09:56 AM
Wisconsin. Four magnificent seasons. All very beautiful, but Winter can be extremely cold, and lots of snow.
There exists a treasure that really has to be experienced if you are ever in the City of Milwaukee.
It is known as "The Domes" The Mitchell Park Conservatory. Three completely different domes: One Desert, One Tropical, and one reserved that is known as seasonal. The seasonal dome has Easter, Christmas, and many other displays and floral gardens. Incredible diversity of plant life. Besides being of extreme size, this vision of being able to observe and participate in different Botany Worlds really is something to marvel.

activerain: How do we really define success? A few thoughts and I welcome your comments. - 02/23/08 05:09 AM
I was recently talking to Cathy LaClear, which is Matt Laclear's wife. I really enjoy talking to her because she is just so down to Earth, has great faith, and is a genuine person. Matt is an awesome guy. He and Hank can motivate you, help you, and really make you a better, more productive person. His attitude just shines. As we talked we were chatting about people that had fought illnesses and came out victorious. Anyone that has fought a terminal illness and has gotten through it, or has it totally maintained, or pretty well maintained, will tell you that … (4 comments)
