tom braatz: How do we really define success? A few thoughts and I welcome your comments. - 02/23/08 05:09 AM
I was recently talking to Cathy LaClear, which is Matt Laclear's wife. I really enjoy talking to her because she is just so down to Earth, has great faith, and is a genuine person. Matt is an awesome guy. He and Hank can motivate you, help you, and really make you a better, more productive person. His attitude just shines. As we talked we were chatting about people that had fought illnesses and came out victorious. Anyone that has fought a terminal illness and has gotten through it, or has it totally maintained, or pretty well maintained, will tell you that … (4 comments)

tom braatz: The Real Esate Business and it's approachs in the new MIllineum. Things have changed - 02/13/08 07:36 AM
The day I got into Real Estate I went out and bought a cheap suit, showed up at my office. They put me in a chair and sell "GO at it son"
From that day froward I noticed changes left in right in the forms, the way business was done, laws that applied, and morels, ethics, and disclosure.
Life was you picked up aphone, called like crazy, did open houses, and prayed someone liked you then came the computer, and then the Multiple listing service:

tom braatz: Real Estate magic?Good Samaritan work? A look at Harry Houdini and Mr. Rogers - 02/12/08 05:00 AM
Harry Houdini. That guy just never quit.Something that is said over and over when his name is mentioned. Tenacity and determination. Two words that can drive a person to focus and concentrate on doing the best they can, and accomplishing the things that others say cannot be accomplished. I have to believe if someone looked at Harry Houdini in the eyes and said "you can't do it" it would only make a person like him that much more motivated and determined. It is a mindset that we all strive for.

Sooner or later as individuals we come to a point … (22 comments)

tom braatz: Beautiful Miller Baseball Park, Beer, and Americas favorite pastime being played in Milwaukee, WI. - 02/04/08 09:06 PM
it is that time again. It is Brewer baseball time. Spring training is in progress, and when the Milwaukee Brewers take town Americas favorite pastime will be playing baseball in a new, high tech Miller Stadium. The pretzels are being loaded, the cotton candy, the nachos, hamburgers, soda, popcorn, and lots of Beer. That's lots of Miller High Life, that's lots of Miller Lite, that's lots of MGD
The parking lots are full of tailgater's putting the last minute touches on their bratwurst. Enough food and beer will be consumed to make any baseball game surely entertaining. This is a truly wonderful … (13 comments)

tom braatz: Questioning things, authority and being ourselves:one Tom Braatz - 02/03/08 10:21 AM
I was able to drive by my old farm the other day and I still get a grin on my face when I think of the crazy stupid stuff I would do to get a look up to the hill, or the people that would peek down my driveway to see what I was up to.
First off, I am not your ordinary kind of guy. I can go to extremes, and it is not out of my realm to do really bizarre things to get a reaction.
For example, I lived pretty close to a touristy City named Cedarburg. I was well … (10 comments)

tom braatz: Real Estate and the emergence of greatness. The proverbial Dog and Pony Show is over! - 01/31/08 07:02 AM
I often think that like any profession, economy, life, or venture, everything has a cycle. Sooner or later the cycle is broken and a new one starts.
It is no mystery that in the last couple of years the Real Estate as well as other factors in the economy have had to step up to the plate in order to foster correction. The adjustment. A new playing field.
The same holds true with the brokers, salespeople, mortgage brokers, insurance companies, and more.
I have seen some of the best go, I have seen some that should go, go. I admire the tenacity that some … (30 comments)

tom braatz: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, A City rich in History. A series in parts and perspectives! - 01/31/08 06:29 AM
It is another cold day in Wisconsin. I might add though it is in the teens regarding temperature and I will take that rather than below zero weather, and all the snow.
Recently, I found myself driving through down town Milwaukee and was marveled by all the new building, and the new billions of dollars of highways going through the City.
As big as Milwaukee will get you still cannot help to have a sense of security, and the average person walking down Wisconsin Avenue, or Michigan Avenue, still lends you that warm, kind smile.
It would be something for the town fore … (4 comments)
