waukesha: The New and Improved Tom Braatz - 02/07/09 09:36 AM
Just when you think our thumbs would had twittled around and fell off. As we constantly came up with new ideas in our Buyer packages, and our Seller packages ,that help, save, help, educate, support, and give lots of useful information that is readily usable, could be used for saving, and more, we get another idea.
Why not package all the demographics at the heart of a pin after we established each game plan: buying or selling? Literally give the people working with us real time information, real time conditions, real time numbers, and real time resources. Done by means of a computer or hand helds.

waukesha: If You Could and Wanted To Move In The US Where Would It Be? What would you expect from your Realtor - 02/07/09 08:03 AM
I may be going off on a limb here but is it safe to say that many of us in activerain have become a creature of environment? I know people that have never moved more than one hundred miles from their town of origin. I have see young babies grow up grow to elementary, middle, high school, and have their own practices these days. Some have children, and grandchildren as well.
Personally I have had a chance to travel, visit, stay for a while (some not at my direction) and it puts a bug in you that lets you know that there are … (6 comments)

waukesha: My Best Business Branding Ever: The Notorious Happy Go Lucky Lars - 01/28/09 12:23 PM
I still get a good feeling when someone is looking at me in a convenience store, or gas station and they say "Do I know you?" My general reply is "I have been in Real estate for awhile." The next thing after they either look in my car, or they hesitate for a moment is the ever so spoken words "Your the guy with the great big dog", or "You have the dog in all your pictures, I have seen him on websites" Funny, I was in the picture as well. I thought I knew a lot of people, but it … (15 comments)

waukesha: Some simple guidelines that keep me grounded, and have a direction as well. - 10/24/08 02:43 PM
How many times have you heard some snake oil salesman say "Why you can't do better!" or "You better hurry or it won't be my fault. You will lose!"
Give me a break. I would like to look at these sales people and tell them to get off the moon, or take a xxxxxxx xxxx. It drives me nuts when people put on this bozo suit and go out to baffle the community. I think that is why Real Estate has gotten such a bad rap in times. There are some magnificent Brokers out there that I hold in the highest … (7 comments)

waukesha: More preconceived notions:Better know as Paradigms. Real Estate has it's share of preconceived notions. - 10/07/08 10:49 AM
It never seizes to amaze me about some of the assumptions that people can make. Real Estate is a great example. Some would say "I can't do that", I don't want to attempt that", that is something I would not be good at", The list is endless.
A Paradigm is a perceived notion. We are all full of preconceived notion:, "That person is a better broker", "I can never get the Seller to that offer", 'I wish I had the talent that person had" "I am happy just making my simple money, and I doubt I could be a Broker that can … (3 comments)

waukesha: Let us never forget those heroes and victims of September 11th. - 09/10/08 03:14 AM
It seemd like it was only a few years ago, but it has been but a short time. The day that people took the lives of innocent people. The heroes that died doing what Americans do; taking care of each of and caring. The firemen, the police, the flights, the passengers that took out the terrorists before they made it to Washington with a flight, and the list goes on.
Let us never forget anyone that made the ultimate sacrifice so we as Americans can endure our day, and deal with it knowing we have our freedom. The men and women … (11 comments)

waukesha: The Power and Fear that exists in all of us. Decisions have to be made - 09/03/08 02:42 PM
Recently, I was talking with one of my buyers, and although it is no secret that there are adjustments taking place in our market and everywhere else, she thought it was just the wrong time to purchase a home. The amazing thing is I really value the inner strength and decipline that this individual has.
I asked her why she was fearful and she made mention of everything from the media, to know it alls on TV.
My response?
When have you ever seen rates this good? The prices could not be better, and the selection is great. You have a … (7 comments)

waukesha: For most of us our kids go back to school. that's good, and it's sad. - 09/01/08 02:19 PM

My little man and I went and saw a movie  tonight called the Dark Knight. Good Movie! It was about three hours long but as the time went on I realize my little gut was pretty quiet through the whole thing.
As I was taking him back home from the cinema I realized that school starts tomorrow.
I am glad he is going into eighth grade and learns well, but at the same time a selfish thing comes over me.
I realize that when I had time during the day I could go and hang out with him, talk, and … (6 comments)

waukesha: 100,000's upon 100,000's of thousands of Harleys make their way to Milwaukee for Harleys Davidsons 105th anniversary - 08/24/08 09:46 AM

You really have not seen any so spectacular until you see a metropolitan city like Milwaukee with more motorcycles in it than people. Yes, it is time for Harley Davidson's 105th anniversary. These organizers set no limits as to entertainment, hospitality, big music events. Rush, Bruce Springsteen, and you name it make up a whole week of solid entertainment among Harley owners and non Harley owners alike. It is something you would never believe unless you see it. You can turn around and see very famous person you can think of. Lake year even Jay Leno was a grand marshal. I … (0 comments)

waukesha: Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. A serene and beautiful City in the Lake Country. A Gem of a community - 08/01/08 11:07 AM

Walking down Main Street or Armour Street, you are greeted by many famous names. You get a feeling that people really liked it here. Wrigley had a mansion, the owner of Montgomery Ward had a 23 room, 20 bath mansion on the Lake. It is just the time to come and let Tom Braatz show you what a beautiful city is really is.

waukesha: The only competition we have is ourselves, and gracefulness and compliments of other brokers is the key - 08/01/08 06:19 AM
I do a lot of cold calling and it just seems to me that I am seeing a parting of styles. After all, there is always plenty of business for all who work hard. I really like it when I get feedback from a consumer saying that another Broker was saying very nice things about me, and really acted in a classy position.
ON the other hand it some times becomes a battle where some Brokers cannot get a long and must go to the extremes of putting someone down, or saying something false that is really not going to get … (5 comments)
