murrieta homes: Roogles, Lacrosse, Pulled Pork & Blue Cheese - Just Another Sunday In Temecula
- 04/03/08 07:26 AM
A while back I wrote about Jim Lilly and The Wine Company. - Temecula Business Spotlight Shines On - The Wine Company This past Sunday, Jim introduced a group of his customers to David Townsend from The Grateful Palate. David's 14 year old daughter Ceili (pronounced Kaylee) plays lacrosse at Chapparal High School. Ceili plays alongside 300 pound boys and more than holds her own. The problem is, the school district hasn't sanctioned the team yet.
To raise some money toward the effort of getting the team sanctioned, David offered a sampling of 15 different Australian wines, the majority of them Shiraz. (10 comments)
The Temecula Valley offers spectacular growing conditions for everything from wine grapes to delicious fruits and vegetables. One of the things I love about this time of year is the Farmers' Market each Saturday in Old Town Temecula. I paid a visit this past Saturday and came home with flowers and Greek olives, and munched on dolmas and a gyro for lunch. Old Town is vibrant and the Farmers' Market is a big part of that. Here are a few more shots for you.

murrieta homes: We CAN All Get Along - Just Watch...
- 03/28/08 09:40 AM
This is one of the most heartwarming videos I have ever seen. The message is quite powerful. There really is nothing we can't accomplish if we just set our minds to it. Don't believe me? Take a look.
Murrieta Real Estate Expert – Tom Plant, REALTOR® - Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage (951) 907-9701 It would be my honor to show you the incredible Temecula Valley, a place I’m very proud to call home.
Let's quote Bob Stewart, shall we? "If you miss the next Inman in July in San Francisco (or if that's too far and you miss the one a year from now in New York) you are crazy!!" What did I learn at Inman?I can't tell you what an incredible experience this past January's Real Estate Connect, meeting fellow Active Rainers and absorbing a wealth of information about blogging, social networking and the real estate industry. I spoke with Matt Heaton yesterday and he assured me there will be an AR gathering, but no formal plans have been drawn up yet. (13 comments)
WOW! Chris and I drove to Las Vegas Friday and had the time of our lives. Friday evening we had to good fortune to see Bette Midler's new show at Caesar's Palace, "The Showgirl Must Go On". Anyone who had any doubts about her ability to take Celine Dion's place can put them to rest here and now. If you get the opportunity to go, don't miss it! Simply put it is one of the best shows I have ever seen. Period. She is a diva and she is divine. Judge Judy was seated three rows in front of us.
I'd like you to meet Lissa Uder. Lissa is part of the RE/MAX Professional Realty Team in Lebanon, MO. She is showing signs of developing a full-blown addiction. I've Created A Monster...I'm Truly Sorry! Lissa covers the gamut from serious Wanna KISS?......Keep It Safe Silly! to fluffy Best Excuses For Sleeping At Your Desk. Lissa began her AR journey on January 16 and is off to a terrific start. Please make her feel welcome. I now pass the torch to Chris Fisher. (21 comments)
murrieta homes: Images Of America - Murrieta
- 02/26/08 12:08 AM
Our nation, though relatively young, is rich in history. Arcadia Publishing has done a phenomenal job with a series of books called Images of America. With more than 3400 titles in the series, chances are pretty good there's a title that chronicles your area's history. This is a great portrait of my home town. The book covers the early days of Murrieta, its people and commerce and is packed with wonderful photos. It is dedicated to E. Hale Curran, who took many of the photos in the book and collected others. It makes a great coffee table book and an ideal closing (16 comments)
murrieta homes: The Agenda For Real Estate Connect Is Up To You
- 02/19/08 02:17 AM
As you may know, I'm a big fan of Inman News' Real Estate Connect. I registered for this July's conference while I was attending the New York Connect in January. If you'd like to know why I'm so passionate about this conference, let me point you to a post from Active Rain's Bob Stewart: What did I learn at Inman? Here is an opportunity to connect with the brightest minds in our industry and see their vision of what lies ahead in this changing market. Not only that, the Inman team is soliciting input for what you would like to see (47 comments)
murrieta homes: Presenting Mr. & Mrs. Tom Sawyer
- 02/17/08 12:10 AM
I believe this shot says it all. Here are the newlyweds immediately following what may have been a three minute ceremony on the helipad at Southernmost House in Key West.
My friend Mary, her son Gabriel and I stopped for dinner at the Conch Republic. Raw oysters, conch chowder and key lime pie.... yum! From there we walked the length of Duval Street, from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico to Tom & Kelly's wedding. The setting could not have been more idyllic. The weather was perfect. 250 friends of the bride and groom celebrated for about three hours. Our (20 comments)
It's been estimated that 2,000,000 homes will go into foreclosure this year. That's a mind numbing number. At last week's California Association of REALTORS® January business meetings, DRE commissioner Jeff Davi told us about the Consumer Home Mortgage Information page. Not only will you find information useful to California homeowners, but you should be able to get some good information regardless of where you live. The page offers help for purchasing and owning a home, obtaining a mortgage, filing a complaint and much more. If you think you may be facing foreclosure, I urge you to visit HUD's Tips For Avoiding (28 comments)
murrieta homes: El Paseo - Palm Desert's Answer To Rodeo Drive
- 01/25/08 06:37 AM
I've been in Indian Wells all week, on the outskirts of Palm Springs. Today I drove to El Paseo and spent about an hour strolling. It reminded me a lot of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Ritzy shops, salons and restaurants every where you turn. If you're ever in the area, it's a great place to pass some time. Not only that, it's a mere hour and a half from Murrieta.

murrieta homes: Look Who I Had Lunch With!
- 01/24/08 01:45 AM
Yes indeed, that's Kathy McGraw. Kathy and I don't live terribly far from each other and have corresponded several times, but yesterday she took up my invitation to have lunch with me in Indian Wells. I have been so blessed to meet so many of my blogging buddies this year! I was waiting for Kathy in front of the gorgeous Hyatt Grand Champions when she called me. She was in front of the conference center. She spotted me and we went in and had lunch and a good visit. The photo of us, by the way, was taken by Steve Goddard, who (20 comments)
murrieta homes: Indian Wells - C.A.R.'s January Business Meetings Are Off And Running
- 01/23/08 04:59 AM
The California Association of REALTORS® January business meetings are underway in Indian Wells, just outside of Palm Springs. Local Association directors and association executives are gathered here in this majestic desert setting until Saturday to assess the state of our real estate market and prepare for our future. Our MLS working group has been investigating the possibility of a statewide database of property information. This could eventually lead to a statewide MLS, and as you might imagine, this has been a hot button topic. This morning I attended a session led by CAR's new online training programs manager, Chris Tellez. His session (11 comments)

- 01/22/08 03:08 PM
As you may have gathered by now, I'm a huge fan of Inman News' Real Estate Connect. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of Joining Bob Stewart and Joel Burslem as Fran White graciously and professionally hosted a look back at what we took away from New York and what we hope to learn this July in San Francisco. You can read her post and listen to the show here. I promise to post more about the New York Connect from the copious notes I took. In the meantime, Take Bob's advice to heart. I hope to see you in the City By (23 comments)
murrieta homes: Sunday Morning In Murrieta
- 01/20/08 03:19 AM
It's a wintry morning in Murrieta. The mercury dropped to 25 overnight. Fortunately it doesn't get that cold that often here. Last year we had a nearly two week stretch of sub 30 nights that wreaked havoc on the tropical foliage. I love this time of year. The air is crisp and the sky is crystal clear. Rain is in the forecast for this week, and as we're in a drought, any we get will be welcome. Tuesday I'll head off to Indian Wells for the California Association of REALTORS® business meetings. One of the things I love about living (24 comments)
murrieta homes: Hamming It Up Murrieta Style - Welcome To Honeycutt Farms
- 01/15/08 11:58 AM
Last Christmas, we were invited to potluck with our friends in Quail Valley. Everyone agreed on a ham, so I headed over to Honeycutt Farms. I had stopped in once to try their split pea soup (delicious!), but hadn't yet tried their ham. It was a hit! Everyone loved it, there were plenty of leftovers, and I made an incredibly tasty black bean soup with the bone. Debbie and I went back to try their breakfast a few weeks later and it was absolutely delicious. Their bacon, sausage and ham with eggs and biscuit breakfast is guaranteed to satisfy any hunger pangs (24 comments)
