lake martin real estate: April 27, 2011 F4 Tornado at Lake Martin - 05/17/11 11:58 AM

On April 27, an F4 Tornado hit Pace’s Peninsula on Lake Martin.  As volunteers for Pace’s Point Fire and Rescue, my husband and I saw the devastation first hand.  Approximately 50 homes were badly damaged or destroyed in our area.  While there were some injuries, there were no fatalities on Pace’s Peninsula.
The response to our community by volunteers was amazing. Pace’s Point Fire and Rescue in concert with Voluntary Organizations Assisting in Disasters (VOAD) processed over 80 requests for assistance and sent out over 400 volunteers in the days following the storm.  The work is still in progress; however, … (1 comments)

Can you spell perfection? This lake home sits on a large, nearly flat lot with a huge view. Heart pine floors, granite counters, stone fireplace, 4 BR, 3 BA. The great room, kitchen and spacious master suite all have water views. There's not enough space to describe this true lake home. Dock, boat lift, large floating dock, and an extra deck off the large screen porch provide great outdoor living.

lake martin real estate: Happy Memorial Day – Rain or Shine! - 05/24/09 10:04 AM
Lake Martin is full and open for business as the official summer season begins this weekend.  Road traffic is heavy, stores are busy, boat ramps are in use, and marinas are selling lots of stuff from gas to potato chips!  While many family gatherings have been dampened a bit with frequent rain showers, folks are still on the water having a good time.  After all, if you’re swimming , skiing, tubing, fishing, or otherwise playing in the water –a little rain can’t hurt!  People at the lake always make the best of it when a holiday weekend comes around.
