selling a home in hoover alabama: Selling A Home - Add Molding for that Special Touch - 03/26/09 10:22 AM
I was showing houses to a client the other day.  This is a buyer's market as we have heard so there are literally hundreds of homes for sale in her price range. Based on most of her specific requested items and through the use of the internet (pictures really help weed out the undesirable) we basically narrowed it down to 30 homes.  Over a period of three trips we ventured out to personally view the top picks.
She had a couple of subdivision that she had friends living in already so we really wanted to explore those neighborhoods.  Some of these … (2 comments)

selling a home in hoover alabama: Selling A Home - Bake A Pumpkin Pie - 11/03/08 01:15 PM
What a beautiful fall.  There are so many beautiful trees here in Hoover Alabama.  I would love to be able to pull over and take pictues to share.  Of course I would never get anywhere if I did that!
I was having lunch with my husband when I realized that Christmas music was playing over the restaurant's PA system.  Now this is not a re-post of some old blog; today is only November 3rd (one day before election day).  I love the Christmas season - the weather is cooler, I like Christmas music playing everywhere and the idea of giving and going … (0 comments)

selling a home in hoover alabama: Selling A Home - Try Hydrangeas for Curb Appeal - 10/11/08 01:23 AM
I was out in the backyard watering my garden today and was noticing how many of the plants are starting to look weary now that fall is here.  I guess some of the mornings have been a little cool and the sun is going down sooner so it is more difficult for them to flourish.
My roses love the cool weather and have a new resurgence of blooms.  I love the spring and fall for this reason.
One plant that still looks beautiful in the hydrangea.  The leaves are a dark green and are a healthy looking backdrop to some of … (0 comments)

selling a home in hoover alabama: Selling Your Home - Spruce Up The Flowerbeds with a Fall Garden - 09/29/08 08:23 AM
The last week has been wonderful.  Evening temperatures have been down in the 50's on some nights.  The cooler temperatures are causing the leaves to start turning, although we are going to need to see the 40's before we get the real vibrant colors. I've had my windows open to let in the cool air. Even though it's in the 80's this afternoon, I know the long hot summer is on its way out.
My husband and I were walking Maggie this morning and she likes the cool weather, too.  She has a brisk step and her tongue doesn't hang down … (0 comments)

selling a home in hoover alabama: Juvenile Bird Has Bad Hair Day - 09/11/08 10:48 AM
I woke up this morning and heard an incredible amount of chatter in the back yard.  There was so much noise I had to look.  There, on top of the shed were two cardinals and one was feeding the other.  They were both good sized birds, but on closer examination, one was a baby - just a little smaller that its mother.   Female Cardinals make a lot of noise anyway, but this one was teaching her baby how to fly and they were talking back and forth.  The baby could fly from the shed to the fence and back, but … (0 comments)

selling a home in hoover alabama: Putting Up A Fence in Hoover Alabama - 08/10/08 10:48 AM
I have a Home for Sale in Hoover Alabama and the other day a prospective buyer was looking at it and wanted to know if she could put up a fence.  The property has a beautiful view and a wooded privacy fence would really ruin it.  Some people though, must have a fence.  Pets are a common reason for erecting a fence and the new electric fences have been a great addition to the fencing world. In this case the family has two dogs that they say WILL NOT stay in one of those electric fences.
The first thing to do … (0 comments)

selling a home in hoover alabama: Looking For Energy Savings - Try New Windows - 08/07/08 02:35 PM
My Husband and I went window shopping today in Hoover, Alabama.  Not the kind where you walk down the street and look at new clothes through the store window, but shopping FOR windows. My house was built in 1986 in Hoover, Alabama, and several of the windows are loosing their seals, not opening or closing well, and one has a crack.  So, we have decided it is time to replace them.
What does loosing its seal mean?  We have double pane windows.  That means we have two panes of glass with argon gas in between.  This gas adds additional insulation so … (0 comments)

selling a home in hoover alabama: Selling Your Home in Hoover Alabama - Clean, Clean, Clean - 07/07/08 02:39 PM
Last month I showed a house to some clients who were looking to Buy a Home in Hoover Alabama.  The house had a good floor plan, good colors, and a great backyard, but it was filthy.  Dirt on the baseboards, dirty oven, dirty windows, mildew in the shower (the grout needed to be redone) - and yes the lady was living there with her 2 small children.  The house had been on the market for 6 months and had just been "reduced". This is a common sight in this business.
When getting your house ready to sell a home, you have … (0 comments)

selling a home in hoover alabama: Selling Your Home in Hoover Alabama - Get Rid of the Clutter - 06/30/08 01:13 PM
When I was between the ages of 18 and 38 I moved almost every year.  The one thing I learned is that you had to get rid of stuff.  I had it down to my clothes, furniture, 3 boxes and 3 50 gallon drums.  This included all my kitchen stuff and my Christmas decorations.  But, now that I have lived in my current house for 12 years, it is quite a different story.
When it's time to Sell Your Home in Hoover Alabama, the first thing you need to do is to get rid of the Clutter Clutter Eats Equity. Too … (0 comments)
