Family, Friends, Clients and all, The stock market remains on fire while the real estate market seems to have run out of gas. Home prices have levelled off and price reductions are running rampant. The Santa Clarita Valley is made up of six areas which include Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, Saugus, Castaic, Newhall and Canyon Country. The entire valley currently has 635 active listings of which is made up of 475 single family homes. Only 22 of these single-family homes are price below $500,000. Giving up youth, future and an opportunity to grow old to preserve Freedom for the future Americans is something that can never be fully appreciated. Freedom is not guaranteed. There are many among us still suffering from the affects of Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. We honor those that gave their lives, limbs, mental health and are still enduring the remnants of the war today. I was fortunate to be a relatively new Realtor in Santa Clarita, California in 1996 and had the good fortune to meet a couple selling their home. The gentleman was walking through the home with an oxygen tank and apologized for his appearance. He went on to explain that he was in the Vietnam War and had damaged his lungs from Agent Orange. Family, Friends & Clients, This past year has brought many significant changes to our local real estate market. Interest rates have risen by nearly 1% as the Dow Jones Industrial Average has risen by as much as 3,800 points. Unemployment has dropped to as low as 3.7% and home prices in many areas are up as much as 10%.
