The only real hype has been whether the aging star, Peyton Manning, will ride into the sunset with as many Super Bowl rings as his Brother Eli Manning or if we are now on the dawn of a new era lead by The Future Cam Newton.

The first thing that comes to mind during the NFL Playoffs and especially Superbowl Sunday is the Open House. The people out looking at homes during the playoffs and the parties that ensue are truly highly motivated or simply not Football Fans. Supply and demand ultimately determine the value of an. y product with homes being no exception. However this relationship is sometimes disguised as it surely is this year. The stock market, China devaluation of their currency, financial problems in Europe and war in the middle-east should all dictate a slowdown in the rise of home prices. There are less buyers out there looking for a home but as it turns out, those looking are highly motivated and buying homes. Many economists are calling for interest rates to rise stating that higher interest rates are the sign of a healthy economy. This may be true but it will surely punish the lower middle class and lower class income earners. The higher interest rates will prevent those with limited income from qualifying for a mortgage. The affect will be to give those with a healthier income the ability to buy without competition and thus taking advantage of higher interest rates. The proposed Master-Plan Community of Newhall Ranch is a Brand New community being proposed by former Valencia, Ca. builder Newhall Land and Farm and current Owner Lennar Corporation. Their EIR Plans were approved in 2010. There is a new challenge and the review of the EIR and the project is being delayed. Fear is that it may now take until 2020 for final approval. Opponents of the project must be rejoicing. The impact of this new community could adversely affect traffic in the Santa Clarita Valley.
