Many of us have our own version of the American Dream. To some it's financial, to others it's career and still others it's simply success. To me Homeowner-ship is the true American Dream. There are many among us still suffering from the affects of Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. We honor those that gave their lives, limbs, mental health and are still enduring the remnants of the war today. I was fortunate to be a relatively new Realtor in Santa Clarita, California in 1996 and had the good fortune to meet a couple selling their home. Have you heard the latest news from Tesla's CEO Elon Musk? He stated that the company may be going private and would value the home at $420 per share. The stop has fluctuated between $290 - $380 over the past six months. The stock shot up to $30 per share to $32.50 almost immediately upon the news release. Family, Friends & Clients, There seems to be differing views of what is right or wrong when it comes to the real estate market. Ask someone if they like rent control and the answer from home owners and investors is polar opposite from those that are not home owners. Homes sales are slowing down for several reasons. Prime reason is lack of inventory, followed by rising interest rates and then homes being listed at a price above what a will buyer will pay. We are now seeing price reductions often in all areas of the Santa Clarita Valley. Home prices have risen significantly since the start of 2018 and with higher prices and interest rates the average days on market has continued to fall.
