Dear /Clients & Friends It is the end of a wonderful Summer and School has already begun. Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor are ending their seasons and footballs are already in the air. Dani & I have updated the Labor Day Weekend events page, we sure hope you enjoy our efforts. The local real estate market has benefited from a steady recovery. This is a market in which prices have stabilized and multiple offers have happened much less than they had in recent years. We have limited numbers of hours to spend with our clients and there are days in which we have back to back appointments. Dear Clients & Friends, Home ownership is back on the top of the list for most Americans when they speak of the American Dream. This is a positive change considering how taboo it had become just a few years ago. Home prices in most areas are at or near the value seen in 2008 when the bottom fell out of the the real estate market. Home prices continued rising for the next two years but sales numbers fell off the table. I was just thinking, what would God want to see in a Realtor before allowing them to pass through the Pearly Gates? I guess some of the most important criteria would be: Did you put others best interest ahead of your own? Did you show homes based solely upon the clients criteria no matter what the commission was? Did you show homes that were listed by other Realtors no matter which company or your personal feelings toward that listing Realtor? Dear Clients, Friends & Fellow Americans, Independence Day is on the 4th of July. Tony Lewis is an honorably discharged DAV Vietnam era Veteran. Service to our nation was required when I was drafted in 1968. Today the draft and lottery system are long gone. Our your children, both women and men, need to volunteer in order to defend our nation. We thank them each individually and collectively. Have you noticed that new neighborhoods stay in tact until one of the original owners decide to move and then one after another the entire neighborhood begins to change ownership? Dani & I were original owners in the Saugus community near Saugus High School called Brock/Citation in 1980. This phenomenon happened in 1989. The Roller Coaster, Feast or Famine, Real Estate Market is now wackier that the new Twisted Colossus ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain. These latest sales numbers indicate just how hot the current market really is. There have been 122 Homes sold in the past 30 days in the Santa Clarita Valley, currently there are 581 active listings. The number of homes currently in escrow is 654. It is unexplainable how interest rates remain at such low rates. I have access to the MLS and know the community that my new home will be located better than most people. I've negotiated everything in my life and I'm really good at it. Why do I need a Realtor? A Doctor has many years of training doesn't operate on themselves. An Attorney has been in court defending other his entire career yet hires an Attorney. A Teacher has taught for years yet attends classes and learn from other teachers. You don't know what you don't know. Stability has returned to the real estate market as homes continue to be listed and sold in a timely manner. Interest Rates remain extremely low and FHA loans have lowered their PMI. Stated Income Loans are also back. There are many home owners that have avoided going into foreclosure as home values are now rising to levels unseen since the collapse in October of 2008. Whoever shows the house gets the commission. We don't get paid unless we close escrow. Ask your agent not me. Tell them at the Open House you have your own agent. There are many things we know as Realtors and are unknown to the general public. It is our job and responsibility to educate the public instead of knocking them for not knowing how we work. Daylight Savings time has begun and Spring is less than two weeks away. The rather mild Winter has started the home buying and selling season earlier than usual. Homes are selling at a brisk pace, home prices are once again on the rise even as interest rates have continued to fall. This weeks jobs report was stronger than expected, the unemployment rate fell to 5.5%. You would think this would be great news for the Stock Market.
