There couldn't have been better news for the struggling middle class than we heard on Friday.  The Fed has decided to hold interest rates and will not raise them for now.  This is incredible news for those with adjustable interest rates, home owners thinking of selling and of course those sitting on the fence that need an added incentive to get off the fence and purchase a home.

I just received a call for a home owner in Valencia Westridge Sundance community .   The home evaluation showed the value with all upgrades, large yard and gated community to be worth $730,000.  They had paid $820,000 for the home in 2007.
She said that they will sell once they can sell for their $820,000 plus the cost to sell.  They are retired and have no pressure to sell.  They do want to buy a much more expensive and in an expensive community where their daughter lives.

Higher home prices send California housing affordability lower
LOS ANGELES (Feb. 25) – Higher home prices offset lower interest rates to reduce housing affordability in California during the fourth quarter of 2012, the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.) reported.
