keller williams: Websites And Wordpress - Oh My.... - 05/14/16 12:16 AM
Suzanne and I were discussing the latest move by Keller Williams regarding agent websites yesterday.

This is not "new" news - but - it just came to the top of our list.

Late last year we "moved" our website from RealPro Systems to the KW platform.  We were able to replicate the look, feel and functionality, so it no longer made sense to pay for something monthly that was now provided by KW for "zero" additional dollars (including Wolfnet IDX).

KW is now migrating to the Placester offering - which I understand is built on Wordpress.

And - the content won't automatically transfer to … (16 comments)

keller williams: Climb Every Mountain?! - 06/28/07 11:52 AM
Well - perhaps not every mountain!  But - there are challenges galore out there in our industry - and for every perceived "problem" there is a solution - it's just a matter of identifying the solution.  Those "mountains" provide opportunities for those up to the challenge - which I would hope would be most of us in the real estate business as it demands a certain "entrepreneurial spirit" and sense of adventure to get into the business in the first place.

I'm not sure I'm in good enough shape to climb EVERY mountain - so I pick and choose those … (18 comments)

keller williams: Don't be shy! - 06/26/07 01:40 PM
OK folks - step right up, step right up!  We've had a glorious couple of days of debate over whether designations are a key component of being successful in real estate.  Those with say of course - those without say of course not!  No surprises there.
Here is the surprise!  I asked for suggestions from all parties as to what a new agent, without the benefit of designations, qualifications/network from a previous career and without the benefit of having an experience professional in the family could do to build their own business plan to be successful.
The silence has been deafening!

keller williams: Phoenix Real Estate! - 05/07/07 11:55 AM
Listening to Brian Tracy and Rodney Rumford talk today about the power of blogging, I was amused to hear how Harry Anderson won a political victory over a 16 year incumbent due to an ad campaign that translates roughly like this:
Phoenix Real Estate
Buy Phoenix Real Estate
Who wants to buy Phoenix Real Estate?
Do you know anyone who wants to buy Phoenix Real Estate?
Have you ever thought of buying Phoenix Real Estate?
Never thought of buying Phoenix Real Estate?!
Phoenix Real Estate
Sell Phoenix Real Estate
Who wants to sell Phoenix Real Estate?
Do you know anyone who … (22 comments)

keller williams: Discounts? - 04/22/07 08:47 AM
Oh my, it seems like the question of "discounts" gets more vicious every day.
It's been my experience that some of the set fee outfits claim they are saving a client "x" compared with someone who would charge a higher fee.  Duh, let's see, if one number is lower than another, then it's lower and there is a difference.  The unproven assumption is that the consumer only has a choice between the set fee outfit and this postulated alternative, and that the set fee outfit knows with certainty what the other broker would charge, and then proceeds to calculate the savings.  … (36 comments)

keller williams: Keller Williams Out Front - 04/07/07 12:12 PM
I'm a huge fan of metrics, so when I picked up the March/April 2007 issue of Keller Williams "outfront" I zeroed in on the Page 1 article "Research reveals impact of joining Keller Williams Realty on mega agent production" by Lisa Wahlgren.  The next line reads "Within first year, volume and GCI climb sharply; education cited as key".
The study compared mega agents' production from their last full year at their previous brokerage versus their first full year with Keller Williams Realty.
Numbers that really jumped out at me were:
31% Increase in volume - from $15.1 Million to $19.9 Million

keller williams: Why Keller Williams? - 02/27/07 02:38 PM

Having spent time with HomeSmart (a local franchise), then Century 21, RE/MAX and finally Keller Williams, I am frequently asked "Why Keller Williams?"
A little bit of history:
HomeSmart was my first stop after getting my license.  I liked their model, I liked their use of technology, and I liked their pricing for a solo agent!  I was still in Corporate America, which meant I was rarely in Arizona - only between airplanes for the weekend, so the office location being a 30 minute drive from home was irrelevant.
When Suzanne agreed to join me in the real estate business … (21 comments)

keller williams: The Secrets of Success - 02/27/07 08:15 AM
Sharing the secrets of success with others is one of the many attractive features of our current franchise affiliation.
Today, Mike Mendoza, former #1 agent for Realty Executives, and currently the Rainmaker Team Leader for The Mendoza Team as well as a co-owner for the Keller Williams Northwest Region (Alaska, Idaho, Orgeon, Washington) took time out of his schedule to spend three hours with a group of about forty Rainmaker Team Leaders, Operating Principals, Market Center Team Leaders and Agents discussing how he did what he did and how he does what he does!
Here are some of Mike's suggestions for success for … (20 comments)

keller williams: Keller Williams Family Reunion 2007 - 02/15/07 02:30 AM
Today Suzanne and I head out from Keller Williams Family Reunion 2007 in Las Vegas.  That's the annual convention.  More details will follow next week when we are back at home base, but here are the answers to the most common questions people ask us about events we have attended.
Was it worth attending?  Absolutely - we will make this a fixture on our calendar.
Why was it worth attending?  The networking we accomplished, spreading the word about blogging and Active Rain, and meeting new referral partners are just the tip of the iceberg.
Would you go again next year? Absolutely - we will … (5 comments)

keller williams: 212 Degrees - Bring it to the boil! - 01/11/07 11:12 AM
Today Keller Williams Regional Director Tom Draney led the Phoenix/Goodyear Market Center Agent Leadership Council (ALC) through what is usually a two day clinic.  One notable segment of the meeting was the playing of the video "212 Degrees".
Click Here to see 212 Degrees - Courtesy of http://www.simpletruths.com/ - make sure your sound is on and turned up for the full effect - and no - it's not going to explode your eardrums!

keller williams: Quantum Leap - 12/15/06 11:26 AM
Suzanne and I have just finished a 2 day seminar / workshop in Mesa Arizona - "Quantum Leap" - led by Scott Agnew, who owns several Keller Williams Market Centers in Arizona and Utah.
There is no way to do justice to the depth and breadth of information covered in the massive 200 page volume affectionately known as the Quantum Leap workbook,  2 pages of which are single line items in the Bibliography!
My overall take on it was if took all the motivational speakers/writers like Tony Robbins, Stephen Covey, Jack Canfield and anyone else you care to include, distilled the … (12 comments)

keller williams: The Red Book - 11/01/06 04:13 AM
Ken had an excellent idea with "The Red Book" Club.  The best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.  To fully implement all the ideas in the book takes months, if not years.  The benefit of following the road map that others have followed before us is that it works - and although it helps, it isn't mandatory that you be a Keller Williams agent to follow that path.
Yes - technology is constantly changing, and some of the concepts that were print driven when the book was written can be just as effective, at a much lower … (13 comments)

keller williams: How to choose your Broker - 10/16/06 08:18 AM
Hopefully, new licensees understand that rather than you being hired by a broker, you are in the driver's seat when it comes to deciding which Broker you are going to hire.
You need to compare your business model and goals with the structure and support of the Brokers under consideration.  We recently made the move after 2 very successful years from RE/MAX to Keller Williams.  Why fix something that's not broken you ask?  When Suzanne and I joined RE/MAX, we planned that it would be just the two of us, plus a virtual listing coordinator and virtual transaction manager. For that configuration, RE/MAX was … (18 comments)
