I took a personal challenge to reduce my footprint on the planet in 2008 when I realized that I was spending thousands of dollars on printing costs for my small Eastvale based real-estate brokerage.  Along the way, I've implemented electronic faxes, electronic signatures, GPS techology for mileage tracking, online transaction management & storage to eliminate paper files and receipt scanning to tame the chore of expense reporting.  I was even featured in a short blurb on REALTOR magazine in spring 2010 about becoming paperless which was a thrill for me.  But alas, the link no longer works and I didn't keep a HARDCOPY of … (19 comments)

Yesterday my telegraph machine came to life and after a few minutes of using my morse-code to English transcriber ring I just couldn't believe the dots & dashes that I was reading.  I rang-up the switchboard operator at HUD and she announced that indeed the news was true.
At long-last, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development have changed their calendars to read the 21st century (a year starting with '20') with their issuance of mortgage letter 2010-14 which finally will allow HUD to 'accept' electronic signatures for mortgage insurance endorsement.

A Broker's Story: My Quest to Be Paperless
I've written comments in many other posts about how I'm trying to become more 'green' in my business because it finally is starting to make sense on the bottom line in addition to the typical altruistic arguements for saving the environment.  I'm pleased to announce that I am credited with a short article in REALTOR® on-line magazine entitled A Broker's Story: My Quest to be Paperless which outlines some of the changes that I've made in my small office.
