bailout: Bank of America/Countrywide Continues to Make Out Like Bandits

You may recall that the housing loan modification program has been touted as the solution to solving what ails the housing market. Very few people have actually qualified for these modifications. But Bank of America/Countrywide, one of the largest beneficiaries of the taxpayers' largesse, has supposedly been actively working with their lendees to modify their loans. BusinessWeek has a very telling, inside look at what's really been going on. A homeowner from Northborough, MA is charged more than $6000 in fees to modify her loan, and her Dad decides to contact Barney Frank and other legislators:

Who is to blame for this monumental financial meltdown that is sucking the lifebood out of the taxpayers?
