The track work will impact King St. West from Close Avenue all the way to where King St. meets Queen St. West.

real estate agent: Drinking Beer on the Move - 02/24/11 02:33 AM
Could this be the end of the beer tents and gardens at festivals in Ontario. The Ontario government will be hosting public discussions on removing barriers in public places when consuming beer.
Street festival like The Taste of Danforth, will be impacted too, you could sip your beer down the Danforth as you take in the street atmosphere and food. This will have a direct hit on restaurants and bars, some people will more than likely bring their own alcoholic beverages.
This takes me to another festival, Caribana. I've heard this organization raise much needed funds through sponsorships via beer tents … (3 comments)

real estate agent: 6 more weeks to Spring - 02/02/11 03:05 AM
Have you heard? Wiarton Willie did not see his shadow today so now we know spring is around corner. Yippeee!!!! This is great news as the City of Toronto and South Western Ontario is shut down with the snow storm. I think we are getting off lucky as 15-20cm of snow is not nearly as crazy as the folks down south are facing- Chicago is expecting to get a whopping 60cm of snowfall.
Parents and kids are enjoying a surprise snow day off today.  Have fun in the snow and if you have to drive in it, then take it easy.

real estate agent: A place for someone in dire need-Parkdale - 11/19/10 04:26 AM
I have seen such dire need in Parkdale amid all the buzz of an up and coming hip neighborhood, newly renovated Edwardian mansions amongst fancy restaurants.
At the top of Queen St. West and Dowling Ave., there are a group of people that run a local drop in community centre for residents in the area, Parkdale Activity Recreation Centre. Most of these people are survivors of the psychiatric system. They live in numerous rooming and boarding houses Parkdale was known for, these folks have little support systems, low income and few family ties, usually with no place to be during the … (0 comments)

I was walking along Queen St. West today on my way to the art store Loomis and Toles and noticed that the Dufferin underpass is looking close to completion.
I must say the connection to Dufferin St. is looking good, you can actually see the how the traffic will through also the supports have been taken down. I can hardly wait to see traffic moving through under the bridge via the new connection of Dufferin St.
There is also a small town square, its going to be a parkette on Queen St. West. We can definitely use more green outdoor space … (0 comments)

real estate agent: Ali's Roti Shop in Parkdale - 09/18/10 04:49 PM
I live in such a diverse city, Toronto. I'm particularly fond of Parkdale, this neighborhood is on the cusp of gentrification. There are so many new restaurants  on Queen St. West. and coffee shops too, in between there are a few galleries popping up. I get excited when I see galleries as I know the artists are here in the neighborhood, when the artists are here, the cool factor seems to follow.
In Parkdale, there are a few shops that have been here for a long time and are the staples of our hood. In this case, I'm talking about Ali's … (5 comments)

Its celebration time in Toronto as Hollywood comes north to our fair city! You see the Toronto Film Festival will be kicking off in a few days, it runs from Sept. 9-19th, 2010. The city is already a buzz with media from around the world as we set the stage for 35th Annual Toronto Film Festival.

real estate agent: Toronto Real Estate Market shifts to favour Buyers - 09/04/10 03:54 PM
Our cooling market is now a boon for home buyers. If you are looking to make a move now is your chance as the Sellers Market is now being shifted over to a Buyers Market. Homes are now sitting in the market for a longer period and the average days on the market is now 36, compared to last year of 30 days.  Listings are up by 20% when compared to this time last year.
With this slowdown in sales volume it has not affected the price of homes. Its true we are not seeing double-digit price increases, however the average home price have increased by … (2 comments)

real estate agent: For cat lovers - 09/02/10 11:44 AM
I want you meet my cat Jameson, he is the most talkative little cat I know. His voice is not your typical meow.  Its hard to explain.  We found him in the neighbourhood a few years ago, in the dead of winter wandering around and in distress. We named him Jameson, the name of a street in Parkdale.
He is the most lovable black cat.
He is a cat that has his rituals and he follows them everyday, is it instincts? Every day when Jim comes home from work he is around and waiting for him, just hanging around. He knows … (5 comments)
