The new stats for August is just out and Canadian home sales rose 4.1% when compared to the previous month. This is the first monthly increase in home sales since March as reported by the Canadian Real Estate Association this past week. Most of these sales were from Vancouver and Ontario. These 2 provinces are the most expensive and also were hit the hardest in weak home sales, I think a lot of this was caused by the newly introduced HST tax and negative pressures in the market.
