The first 2 weeks of the 2008 spring Turkey hunt (Unit K) has been spectacular. There are lots of birds on the move searching for receptive hens and food. Because of the lack of rain the birds really have to work to find food. There is not much green in the woods as of yet so spotting birds off in the distance is a little easier than most years. Birds in the area are gobbling hard and are responding to calls. The hunting pressure is very low throughout the Pere Marquette State Forest area.
