"the SOLD man" - who'n'how'n'what....?!?!

A brief background first:
I was stationed at Ft. Rucker in the early 70's and started teaching the drummers in the Enterprise High School Band (one of several towns next-door or close by). I then started a music store here which I had for almost 35 years. I've played in MANY local bands covering various types of music (rock, country, Christian, Maqrching Band, etc...) and to varying degrees of "success" (i.e. - garage-band caliber to recording artists). Also taught drums (Percussion) at the local Community College and other area schools. So, most are people know … (19 comments)

Enterprise, in Southeast Alabama, is a strong Military town due to Ft. Rucker being located here, so we were EXTREMELY busy this last week.
Parade on Thursday night - I got to ride in a WW2 jeep and met a guy who is in a re-enacter's group that even has trucks and tanks in their Museum only a few towns away.....

Ceremony at the Civic Center afterwards - honoring the Gulf War Vets. Last year was the Viet Nam era (me), year before was Korean War, and then WW 2.

al: May Market Report for The Wiregrass - 06/29/13 08:16 AM
Wiregrass area residential sales up 39% in May - Year To Date sales up 10%
May residential sales in the Wiregrass area increased 39.4 percent from this same period last year. Sales also went up by 29.6 percent (21 units) from last month. That makes it up 9.9 percent for this year versus last year over the same period.
Wiregrass area residential sales up 39% from May 2012.
Housing inventory still remains high - up 1.9% from May 2012. To me, this figure may be skewed by the fact that Builders have been more active over the last year.
Supply: Wiregrass area housing inventory … (7 comments)

al: J.O.E. at Harvest Church - 06/07/13 01:17 AM
On May 17th, my Christain Rock Band "J.O.E. (Jesus Owns Everything) played at Harvest Church in Dothan, AL There were 15 bands vying to be the opening act for Colton Dixon (former American Idol star). Altho we didn't win (they were looking for a younger type band to match the style of the headliner - not MY opinion, but stated in Rules), we did get to meet and hear several other area bands that we haven't heard yet. The bands came from several places not too close by, as well as local bands from Dothan and Enterprise. From Panama City, Florida … (3 comments)

al: Dear Deer!! - 02/05/13 11:52 AM

The neighborhood that I live in is a subdivision on the very edge of town. Across the street from me is an empty lot (and I hope it stays empty - pretty bad land and it would be hard to build on) and behind that are acres of empty land. The name of my street is "Deer Run Strut", and the deer do run'n'strut around here. Behind the house is one of the half dozen lakes (plus some ponds) in the s/d and the deer use the land on each side of our house as a path to the lakes. … (6 comments)

The Gateway Geese

Just another reason that I love living in Gateway Subdivsion in Enterprise, Alabama. We're on the edge of town, so get quite a few "visitors". We've got the ducks that I've posted about, the white geese that stay on one small pond, plenty of deer (we've seen several walk by our house just in the last week - if we don't see one, my 4 year old grand-daughter asks where they are). In fact, the name of my street is "Deer Run Strut" (our deer are too cool to walk - they strut!!)
