enterprise: Patriot Day (9/11) at the VFW
- 09/12/12 09:55 AM
Well, we had a good night at the VFW Post with a combination Remembrance / Pot-Luck Supper / Entertainment last night. We started and ended with Honoring those who died at and have died since 9/11. Then a HUGE chow line (part is in the photo), more Ceremony for the day, Awards for not only some Post members but for local citizens who had distinguished themselves in various ways. Then outside for some music. We were honored to have the local House of Representatives member, Barry Moore and his wife, as well as Public Service Commissioner Twinkle Cavanaugh in attendance.

enterprise: VFW Ladies Auxiliary fund-raiser
- 08/24/12 12:16 AM
Here's my wife, Sue (on right in white shirt), at Milky Moo's with the ladies in the local VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Yesterday they had a fund-raiser for the "Cancer Awareness Research Fund". Proud to say the Pecan Pie and the Peach Crumble that she made were sold very quickly!! Pretty good turnout, even with the afternoon rain. The owner let them also scoop ice cream and half of the proceeds for that time period were donated to the fund. Thank you Milky Moo's!!! A regular contributer to MANY charities here and strong supporter of the various VFW activities!!! Don't (3 comments)
enterprise: We LOVE Our Ducks!
- 07/08/12 11:18 PM
We always have some ducks in our sub-division during the spring and summer, but this year, we had more than usual. Not too many, but just more. And they would occasionally stand in the the roads on the dams and even walk up the road to people's yards. My wife, Sue, had the idea to put out some signs, so we collaborated on the design (mostly her) and I got a local sign shop to make some of these. Of course, we got permission to put them on speed limit and stop signs around the lakes. And yes, I realize they (7 comments)

Enterprise shows why it was nominated as 'Most Patriotic' Best of the Road competition Red, white, and blue were the colors EVERYWHERE for the last week around Enterprise. Businesses, public areas, and homes all put out our "Fourth of July" ornaments a week early for this event as team with the Best of the Road competition toured Enterprise to find out of it truly IS the most patriotic city in the United States. We're competing with five other cites for this honor. Since we have a very large percentage of the population who are retired or transplanted (me) Army Veterans, (2 comments)
enterprise: Gateway Estates Subdivision in Enterprise, Alabama
- 06/21/12 11:48 PM
I've lived in this sub-divison on the northern edge of Enterprise for about 13 years. One of the reasons I picked it is evident in the pictures below - THE TREES!!! Plenty of them. And the yards are large enough so that you have a feeling of privacy. Deer go by my house to one of the several lakes and ponds in the sub-division. Fishing is allowed, so I may take the grand-kids down to one and try it soon. (2 comments)
enterprise: A House with a History!

This is a slightly different type of video from the other property video's I've published. I tried putting in fewer photo's, so hopefully people will contact me to see more of them!! I also tried to do it in an informal "Interview Style" rather than the standard "walk-thru" type, that I also have on this property as well.
