buying a house: Let Uncle Sam Help Pay Your Down Payment!
- 01/20/16 07:54 AM
The February / March real estate rush is approaching. This is the time of year many people anxiously await so they can purchase a house. Yes, you can use the tax refund check you receive and put it towards the down payment and closing cost for your new home!
If you are thinking about buying a home, now is the time to do it! With interest rates on the rise, you should buy sooner rather than later. For the first time in almost a decade, the Feds have raised the rates .25 percent. Although the increase doesn't make a big difference right (3 comments)
As I was getting ready to go into the office one morning, a paid program came on about an anti-aging skin care product. What caught my attention was the Real Estate Agent that said she feels that she needs to look younger to compete with the younger new Agents, therefore she is using this product and feels GREAT! Really!!
Well I don't know about anyone else but I don't feel I need to LOOK YOUNGER in order to compete with newer and younger Realtors. Granted I know I don't look my age (over 40), however I find myself always trying (137 comments)
buying a house: Loan Recast... Who Knew?
- 07/13/15 04:25 AM
My client called me asking for my advice about loan recasting. I have to admit, I was not familiar with the term so I did a little research to educate myself on what loan recasting is all about. So this is what I came up with:
Recasting, also known as re-amortization, is the little-known alternative to lower your mortgage payments. It doesn’t change your interest rate or the term of your loan, but it will reduce the amount you pay each month. The catch? You need a wad of cash — at least $5,000 — you’re comfortable parting with to reduce your (3 comments)
Most consumers do not know the difference between a Buyer's market and a Seller's market, however they should! There are various benefits and disadvantages for Buyer's and Seller's in both market conditions. The principle of supply and demand will determines which market we are in at any given time.
Buyer's Market
Let's start with a Buyer's Market. Most consumers seeking to purchase a home would want to be in this situation. This means the supply of homes are higher than there are Buyers. As a Buyer, you (0 comments)
With so many forms of communications available today, sometimes it is hard to determine the best way to communicate with our clients. The rule of thumb is to communicate with your client the same way they communicate with you. So if they call, then you call back. If they send you an email, then you email back. However, doesn't always work.
Sometimes if I call, they will email or text back. If I email, they will call back. But on one occasion, I called my client and she texted me saying she couldn't talk on the (7 comments)
I've said this many times before but when my own sister did it, I realized I had to write about it. Just in case you're wondering, I was not her Realtor since she lives in Florida and I live in Maryland. However, the Realtor she was working with is someone I've referred to my family a couple years ago.
When my sister told me what happened I gasped and yelled, "Don't you read anything I put on Facebook!" I was just kidding, kinda :-) After this conversation (54 comments)
I have a client who we've become very fond of one another. I sold her home when she was going through a divorce two years ago which was a tough time. Now she is ready to get back in the game and become a homeowner again! My client is very specific about what she is looking for in her next home. As she says, this will be the last home she ever buys... We've gone out to see several houses, but we have realized buying new construction may be the way to go. (7 comments)
