flower mound: One Day On The Market....EIGHT OFFERS!! - 02/26/13 07:38 AM
I have been telling people for months now that it is a seller's market here in Flower Mound and Highland Village, among other North Texas cities.  I keep preaching that if you are considering selling your home, the time to do it is NOW!  The hottest market right now is under $250,000.
Houses are literally on the market for a matter of hours before they are gone.  My clients submitted an offer sight unseen on a home last night.  They are non-contingent, flexible on close date and ended up changing the offer to full price, no closing costs this morning.  There … (8 comments)

Meet Sue.  Escrow Officer at Allegiance Title in Flower Mound, Texas.  Hi Sue!

Sue knew me at 29 years old with only a three month old baby and three months of real estate under my belt.  Fast forward almost eight years and it's still this smiling face I enjoy seeing at the annual turkey fry as well as across the closing table.  This year is the 16th year Allegiance Title has put on the turkey fry featuring some of the best holiday food you've ever tasted.  All of the side dishes are homemade and the sweet potatoes are to die … (2 comments)

flower mound: Go To School Without Supplies? - 07/25/11 08:23 AM

The excitement is already mounting at our local Wal-Mart.  My soon-to-be first grader wandered through the backpack aisle with eyes gleaming at the site of the clean and colorful backpacks.
As a family that doesn't have a problem providing basic necessities for our kids, it really troubled me that there are kids that won't be going to school with a new backpack and school supplies that will help them be prepared for school.
The Village Church is holding a backpack and school supply drive for school-aged kids in our community.  You can pick up a list of necessary … (2 comments)

flower mound: Get Your Fuzzy On! - 06/26/11 11:17 AM
The local favorite with the seemingly inappropriate name is set to open in Flower Mound!

If you haven't experienced Fuzzy's Taco Shop, you are missing out.  It's a place I would classify as a joint.  Rustic interior with metal walls, local advertising all over and a place where everyone knows you and is still glad to see you.
And then there's the food.  Breakfast tacos are my personal favorites and for $1.99 each, you can't get a better deal or heartier breakfast.  Fresh ingredients and cooked to order gets my vote over a bowl of cereal.
If you're … (2 comments)

flower mound: I Scream You Scream... - 04/25/11 02:32 AM
As a kid, I have fond memories of Baskin-Robbins.  At least once a month after Sunday night BBQ's, my family and I would drive to "31 Flavors" and enjoy our favorite ice cream flavors.
This tradition continues but it's definitely this Wednesday when I plan on taking my kids to get 31 cent scoops at Baskin-Robbins.  The company is donating $100,000 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) in remembrance of those who have died while serving their community in uniform.
Enjoy!

flower mound: VBS Scheduled At Flower Mound Church - 04/18/11 10:57 AM
It's the time of year where school is quickly coming to an end and it's time to start focusing on what you're going to do with your munchkins during summer break.
I just signed up my daughter for VBS at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound.  Camp goes from 9 am-Noon, June 20-24.  Cost is $20 per child and $5 for the official "Pandamania" CD.  We have purchased the CD every year and love the music and the message.
To sign your potty trained 3-year-old through 5th grader up for this year's camp, click on this link.  The … (0 comments)

flower mound: Important Heart Screening That's FREE For Your Child - 03/11/11 09:31 AM
With the recent passing of high school basketball star Wes Leonard, this free offer couldn't have come at a better time.
I can't imagine the tremendous high and low that occurred in a matter of seconds seeing Wes score the game-winning basket and then collapsing on the floor, later dying from an enlarged heart.  This condition can go undetected and turn deadly at times when the heart is beating at a high rate.
On Saturday, March 26 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Flower Mound is holding a FREE screening for students ages 14-18 who are … (1 comments)

flower mound: Flower Mound Marcus Girls Soccer #1 in the Nation! - 02/26/11 03:51 PM

One thing that North Texas is known for is its stellar soccer.  You don't have to drive too far to see yard signs telling you a "Marauder Lives Here" or a Solar bumper sticker on the back of an SUV.
The Marcus Girls Soccer Team is not only undefeated at 16-0-1 and 8-0 in district, but rated #1 in the nation!
Such a great honor for our girls!  Keep up the great work!
The next game is the big rivalry game against Flower Mound High School at FMHS on Wednesday, March 2 at 7:45.

flower mound: The Snooty Pig is Coming to Highland Village! - 02/14/11 09:56 AM

It's a GREAT day in Highland Village!
We've always had to travel to Grapevine to get some great, inexpensive breakfast fare but now the wait is over!  I am a big fan of local establishments and the Snooty Pig is no exception!
The new Highland Village location joins the other three locations in Grapevine, Keller and Argyle.
With excellent egg dishes, fluffy french toast and fantastic homemade muffins, you will enjoy breakfast for years to come. They also have a great selection of lunch items so for those of you who don't do breakfast, check out their lunch … (1 comments)

flower mound: How Much Does Weather Play A Part In Sales? - 02/13/11 04:20 PM
The real estate market here, as well as the entire Dallas area, was at a stand still for seven out of 10 days.  This is quite a change of pace for those of us living in a place that averages temperatures between 41-61 in the month of February.
With the phones dead and everyone huddled by the fire, it got me thinking about the weather and the role that weather plays in buying and selling houses.  I think there are always buyers looking and obviously sellers who want to sell, no matter what the weather!
I decided to pull … (6 comments)

flower mound: Recycle your Electronics and more this weekend! - 09/21/10 06:11 AM

I just love these recycling events!  We stack up more "useless" electronics and being the recycling family that we are, these items just can't be thrown away!
This Saturday, September 25 from 8 am-12 pm at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, TX, you can drop off more than just inoperative TV's and VCR's that you don't want.
Drop off is in front of the auditorium at the curb on the front side of the building.  Here is a sample of things you can bring to recycle:
Office Equipment-Fax machines, typewriters, inkjet cartridges, printers, scanners, routers, shredders and … (1 comments)
