If You Kiss Under the Mistletoe,
What If You Live There?

Couldn’t help but wonder what the rules are for living here on Mistletoe Lane.

While this Mistletoe Lane is a private road in the Sierra foothills, I found it fun to think about what special rules that may be in place. :)

Lots to Do Today, Gotta Run!

Back in the day, running around and being a kid was just an average day. Full of energy and not a care in the world. Today, busy days are little different but can still be fun. Maybe if our attitude is that of a child, we can get through some of these days with a different outlook.

Sometimes a Contractor Has to
Act Like a Detective.

Finding the root of the problem requires investigation. A contractor can’t be successful with just replacing the damaged materials, he has to find out the source of the problem. This requires experience and know-how.
Are you getting this sort of detective work from your contractor?

I missed the best shot tonight!

As the sun was setting the driver of my car was racing to get to the right spot in the neighborhood where we were. Each hill offered something almost right but not quite. Around the corner looked promising but uhhh let's keep going. It was a great sunset, but now we know where we will be earlier in the evening tomorrow for a better shot.

What Will The Repairs Look Like
When You Are Done?

Strangely enough, this question gets asked a lot. My first thought is, “I would hope that it looks like it did when it was new!” That is usually what is asked of me when it comes to making repairs.
We can go in and remove all the dry rot and water damage and rebuild all that was taken out. When the work is done and painted, it should look like new. Of course, you may want to have it rebuilt differently. We can do … (8 comments)

Things don't happen in a blink of the eye,
plan ahead!

Home Improvement projects and extensive repairs can be a big and costly decision. It makes sense to think the idea through and find the right contractor for the work. Make sure that once you have decided to do the job, it may take a while to get things started.
In Sacramento, consider contacting Tromler Construction for your Home Improvement or Dry Rot and Water Damage Repairs.

I've Never Seen A Red Dragon Fly

Of course it's not a dragon flying, that would be silly. Maybe it was the desert heat but this dragonfly caught my attention while in an oasis yesterday. From afar I could see that something red was over there so I had to get closer to check it out.

I've never seen a red dragonfly before, now I have.

Now This is an Oasis in the Desert

Okay maybe you are getting tired of photos of the desert but that's all I have right now. This photo was taken from an oasis in the Palm Canyon Area in California. This time of year, it is rare to see any water flowing but there was a little bit here.

This water is just enough to allow for many mature palms and shrubbery, it made for a great shot today!

Using Panoramic Shots in Tight Spaces

When I think of a panoramic shot I think of mountain ranges or ocean front views, not tight spaces. I learned something new that now makes a lot of sense. I will be using this function on my iPhone more often now.

I wanted to get the entire visible coast line from a pier down in San Diego a while ago. I used the panoramic function. By clicking the button and moving the phone the length of the coast, the phone produces a long seamless imagine. It is a very useful … (12 comments)

Sometimes a General Contractor Needs to Play a Investigator Role

A good general contractor is one who has a lot of experience in many areas of home improvement and repairs in Sacramento. You want to have someone working on your home who has been through it before, he has seen the problems that you are experiencing and knows how to fix the problem quickly and efficiently.

In many ways, the general contractor will have to be a investigator. The problem is not always simple. You may have a guess as to the source of the problem, … (6 comments)

I Love My Three Sons – Photo

I do remember watching the series as a kid, it was a fun show that my parents approved of. But that's not what I'm talking about here.

I'm talking about my three real sons, they are in there early twenties now but we are close. They have always been a big part of our lives, in fact Tromler Construction was named after my three sons. I took a part of each of there names and came up with Tromler.

Any guesses as to what their names … (6 comments)

Sure looks like a Fire, but it’s Not

The sunrise this morning is especially fiery, but it is only in color. I think it was time to be grateful for all those men and women who are out there daily help to control and put out the fires that happen this time of year. Hot weather, dry lands make for a dangerous season.

Quiet morning on the Lake
in Greenstone Country

The Greenstone Country Community in Placerville has a lot to offer if you are looking for some peace.
It is a horse property private community, but has plenty of ways in which to get away from the day to day stresses. Lakes, hiking trails, quiet and private areas can be something that you are looking to experience.

Calm day on a Greenstone Country Lake in Placerville, CA

It was a little warm today, but surely not the extreme heats that we can see in the Sacramento Valley during the summer months. The winds were calm and the temps in the 90's today, this makes for some excellent photo opportunities this in the neighborhood.

Just thinking about a special man today.

Though he is no longer with us physically, my father will always be in my heart. I remember so many things about my father, all of which is good. Even those things that I fell he was so wrong about has proven to be my own misunderstanding.

He may not be by my side, he is always with me.

Happy Father's Day Dad!

I was just thinking about reusing photos

I haven't been able to upload images in several days, it's getting to be a nuisance. I have learned the importance of having photos or video in all posts, it's hard not to include one any more.

Maybe I can recycle the photos by writing around the photos!

Built When Redwood Used To Be Red

( Until I can get a Photo to upload, imagine a beautiful piece of redwood here)

Those of us who have been in the construction trade for a while can remember back when redwood used to be red in color. Tight grains, minimal knots, and that rich red color was the wood used in most outdoor living construction. Most of the redwood used today will be a mix of red and various degrees of white.
Yesterday we had to remove a portion of the redwood overhang of a home in … (12 comments)

A Lot Can Be Said About Paying Attention To Details

We see things all around that remind us of the little details that should have been done. Those things that would have been so much better if just a little more effort or thought were put into it.

Can you think of something that could have been an easy fix?

Sat Quietly This Morning Just Taking In All That Is.

I love the early morning hours, especially on the weekend. That seems to be the real quiet time. Time to just reflect on all that is happening today. Thinking of that which I am grateful, and how blessed I am today. Capturing that joy in words escapes me. Maybe a photo would help.

photo: Colorful Sunset - 05/27/14 04:34 PM

After a long day in Sacramento, I get to head to the foothills of the Sierras. From the foothills, the sunsets can be very colorful as the sun sets deeper on the horizon. I don't always get a chance to pull over a snap a shot; sometimes its just some blind shots out the window for later review.
