After going to the auction with the Kardashians, and being invited to their New Year’s Eve Bash, Kim was so kind to offer to drive me home. They are such nice people.

Christmas is over and you are looking for a place to dispose or recycle your Christmas tree, where can you go? El Dorado County has several drop out and collection locations for you. Do not burn your tree in your woodstove or fireplace; they can be a fire hazard!

I got to see this sunset last night while in the foothills of Placerville. The sun was setting behind a tree on the horizon. The photo appears much darker than it really was at the time. Maybe someone can explain how best to photograph the sun and the moon. Hope everyone is enjoying today, Christmas in 7 days!

Everybody loves a Parade, so do we in Placerville, Ca. We get especially excited when it’s a Christmas Parade. This year’s big parade will be on December 4th 2011 and will take place “rain or shine”. Local merchants will be available on Main Street to help you with the holiday shopping. The theme for this year’s event is -There is Magic in Believing.

I had to get some gutters for a job in Auburn, Ca yesterday. As I pulled into the parking spot, I noticed the short roof above an unused door to the warehouse. I’m glad that Ferguson Plumbing Supply knows all about plumbing; they apparently don’t know much about roofing.

My Thoughts Turn To Turkeys - November Photo Fun The month of November always conjures up thoughts of turkeys. They are abundant in the neighborhood here in Placerville, Ca. Sometimes they are in large packs; other times, mom and the little chicks. Today they are eating on the side of the road, seemingly without a care in the world. Enjoy this day!
I had a great meal today at Taqueria Carnaval in Placerville, Ca. I had the shrimp burrito which is excellent. While eating dinner at the restaurant I thought it would make for a good local post. The restaurant is under new management and there were some minor changes to the place, and the menu. When the changes happened a few months ago, things seemed to have gotten just a little bit better.

Forever Lazy – Foto Fun in Wal-Mart. It’s better than the Snuggy! Read a book, Watch TV, or Do nothing at all; all in the Forever Lazy. It’s made of soft fleece, and available in Cobalt blue. I couldn’t stop laughing, could barely take the picture. Great end to a fun weekend in Placerville, Ca. Hope you enjoy it too!
It looks like it was time for a new roof on the clubhouse in Greenstone Country, a residential community in Placerville, Ca. I’m not sure if there were leaks to the existing roof or not. What caught my eye was the steep pitch of the roof. It takes an experienced roofer to do a unique roof like this roof.

The deer are out in large numbers right now. Traveling in packs herds, quietly passing through, eating my plants but generally harmless; the herd marches on. I saw a herd of them yesterday in Greenstone Country and had to stop to shoot them. This time of year, the numbers are greater; more of the bucks can be seen, probably getting ready for the colder weather.

Sometimes you just see something up close that is awesome. I shot this Beaty here in Placervile a little while ago. I thought it was fake! I was wrong, it was real. I really love the extra set of eyes. I'm not sure if it is a butterfly or a moth.

It’s not like I was out there on a hunting trip, I was standing in my front yard in Placerville. Looking across the street was a beautiful deer just grazing on the hillside. The deer are out and about this time of year; it’s this time of year that the big bucks are on the move in the neighborhood. Luckily, I had a means of taking the picture.
It is estimated that over 80% of businesses are not listed locally. That’s a staggering percentage considering all of the talk about the importance of being searchable.
Many people believe that if they see their business on the internet, they are already listed. That is not true. If you or somebody else did not claim your business, anybody could do so. We have had our share of large pine trees fall that past year, we were lucky the trees had fallen away from the house. There are many local residents who have never been to Placerville Speedway but have heard of it. I mean they have HEARD of it. It is the racing season here in Placerville which means every Saturday night you can hear the thundering racers for miles away.
