I personally enjoy the hot summer days in El Dorado County. Sure it would be nice to have some more rain in the future but I can't change that. So I will enjoy the summer days; and if I'm lucky, there will be ice cream in the freezer. That is the case tonight.

As the HOT summer days hit us here in Sacramento, we can burn up a lot of energy using our cooling systems. One of the best ways to maintain an efficient air conditioning system is to keep it clean. The intake filter is a great place to start. If it is getting dirty and dusty – Change It!

Your ceiling fan can be effectively used year-round. In the summer the blades should be forcing the air down; in the winter it is reversed and forces the air upward. There is usually a small switch to reverse the direction located on the housing. We see ceiling fans running virtually nonstop in many apartments.



The problem with this is that you may not realize how much dust can accumulate on the blades and housing.

It may be time to check and clean your ceiling fan.

Summer has quickly come into full swing here in California and in many other parts of the nation. Those that are out in the hot summer sun for extended periods of time are at greater risk of Heat Stress. If you or your associates are in this group, you may want to consider Heat Stress Prevention.

Okay, it's the first day of summer and finally the weather here in California makes sense - it's going to be hot!
We have had some very strange weather, long winter season, more rain than usual, all very uncharacteristic of beautiful California.
It is first day of summer, temperatures to reach 102 in Sacramento, Ca. There with snow still in the Sierra Mountains. Just too weird!
But at least the first day of summer will be correct!
