I probably wouldn’t have believed it until I saw it myself many years ago, but a long tern hot water leak can actually turn light-weight concrete into a slurry mess over time. The hot water breaks down the solid concrete into its unharned form and will not harden again. Remember that the next time there is a small leak in an apartment unit.
